في خطوة تهدف إلى تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية والقضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك بين البلدين، أعلنت الرئاسة السورية أن الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون سيجري زيارة «مرتقبة» إلى سورية، إلا أنها لم تكشف موعدها.
وأفادت مديرية الإعلام، في بيان أوردته وكالة الأنباء السورية الرسمية، اليوم (الأحد)، أن الرئيس الفرنسي سيرافقه وفد يضم عدداً من المستثمرين وممثلين عن شركات فرنسية.
ومن المقرر أن يعقد الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع ونظيره الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون جلسة حوار مستديرة بحضور الوفدين المرافقين، لمناقشة تطورات الأوضاع الإقليمية والدولية، وآفاق التعاون الثنائي في مختلف المجالات، في إطار ما وصفته الرئاسة السورية بالحرص المشترك على مواصلة الحوار السياسي.
وأشارت وسائل إعلام فرنسية إلى أن زيارة ماكرون المرتقبة ستكون الأولى من نوعها لرئيس غربي إلى دمشق بعد سقوط نظام بشار الأسد.
ووصفت صحيفة «لا تريبون» الفرنسية الزيارة المحتملة بـ«التاريخية»، مشيرة إلى أن ماكرون سيكون أول رئيس دولة غربي يزور سورية منذ سقوط نظام بشار الأسد نهاية عام 2024.
ورجحت الصحيفة الفرنسية أن تتمحور أجندة الزيارة حول عدة ملفات رئيسية تشمل: الأمن، وإعادة الإعمار، ووضع الأقليات، إضافة إلى إعادة إطلاق العلاقات الدبلوماسية الرسمية «مما يمثل مرحلة جديدة تماماً في العلاقات بين باريس والسلطات السورية الجديدة».
ومن المتوقع أن يتوجه الرئيس الفرنسي عقب محطته في دمشق إلى العاصمة التركية أنقرة، للمشاركة في قمة حلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو).
واعتبرت «لا تريبون» أن هذه الخطوة تأتي كامتداد لمسار بدأ في مايو 2025، عندما اختار الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع العاصمة الفرنسية باريس لتكون أول زيارة رسمية له إلى دولة غربية عقب توليه السلطة.
In a move aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest between the two countries, the Syrian presidency announced that French President Emmanuel Macron will make an "anticipated" visit to Syria, although the date has not been disclosed.
The Directorate of Media reported, in a statement issued by the official Syrian news agency today (Sunday), that the French president will be accompanied by a delegation that includes several investors and representatives from French companies.
Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron are scheduled to hold a roundtable discussion with the accompanying delegations to discuss developments in regional and international situations, as well as prospects for bilateral cooperation in various fields, within the framework of what the Syrian presidency described as a mutual commitment to continue political dialogue.
French media indicated that Macron's anticipated visit will be the first of its kind by a Western president to Damascus since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.
The French newspaper "La Tribune" described the potential visit as "historic," noting that Macron will be the first Western head of state to visit Syria since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime at the end of 2024.
The French newspaper speculated that the agenda of the visit will revolve around several key issues, including: security, reconstruction, the status of minorities, in addition to the re-launching of official diplomatic relations "which represents a completely new phase in relations between Paris and the new Syrian authorities."
It is expected that the French president will head to the Turkish capital Ankara following his stop in Damascus to participate in a NATO summit.
"La Tribune" considered that this step comes as an extension of a path that began in May 2025, when Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara chose the French capital Paris for his first official visit to a Western country after assuming power.
