كشفت وسائل إعلام أمريكية، اليوم (الأربعاء)، استقالة مسؤولة أمريكية في إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي من منصبين هذا الأسبوع، مرجحة أن يكون على خلفية حرب إيران.
ونقلت صحيفة «واشنطن بوست» الأمريكية، عن 5 أشخاص مطلعين تأكيدهم خطط استقالة مسؤولة الاستخبارات البارزة أماريليس فوكس كينيدي، من اثنين من مناصبها الرئيسية هذا الأسبوع، مرجحين أن يكون ذلك يعود جزئيا للحرب في إيران.
وقال أحدهم للصحيفة إن قرارها يعود جزئيا لخلاف بشأن الانخراط العسكري للرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب في إيران. وبحسب الصحيفة فإن كينيدي، وهي زوجة ابن وزير الصحة الأمريكي روبرت كينيدي جونيور، بعثت برسالة بريد إلكتروني في 8 مايو تخبر زملاءها أنها عائدة للقطاع الخاص.
وكتبت في رسالتها: «الأمومة هي أعظم هبات الرب، وبعد عامين من العمل في الحملة الانتخابية وعام من الخدمة في هذه الإدارة الاستثنائية، علي أن أضمن حصول عائلتي على كل ما تحتاجه»، مبينة أن كينيدي لم تذكر إيران في رسالتها التي امتدحت فيها ترمب.
وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أن كينيدي التي شعلت مناصب استخباراتية في آن واحد، أكدت في رسالتها أن الجمعة القادمة هو آخر أيامها في الوظيفة، مبينة أنها تأمل في الاحتفاظ بمنصبها في المجلس الاستشاري الرئاسي للاستخبارات، والذي يقدم للرئيس نصائح مستقلة بشأن قانونية وفعالية برامج التجسس الأمريكية ويترأسه ديفين نونيز، عضو الكونغرس السابق وحليف ترمب القديم.
يذكر أن كينيدي كانت تشغل منصب نائبة لغابارد في مكتب مدير الاستخبارات الوطنية، ومديرة مساعدة في مكتب الإدارة والميزانية تشرف على ميزانيات الاستخبارات السرية، وعضوة في المجلس الاستشاري الرئاسي للاستخبارات.
وكان مدير المركز الوطني لمكافحة الإرهاب جو كينت، قد أعلن استقالته في مارس الماضي، بسبب خلافات مع الرئيس الأمريكي بشأن الحرب في إيران.
American media revealed today (Wednesday) the resignation of an American official in the administration of President Donald Trump from two positions this week, likely related to the war in Iran.
The American newspaper "The Washington Post" reported that five informed sources confirmed the plans for the resignation of prominent intelligence official Amaryllis Fox Kennedy from two of her key positions this week, suggesting that this is partly due to the war in Iran.
One of them told the newspaper that her decision is partly due to a disagreement over President Donald Trump's military engagement in Iran. According to the newspaper, Kennedy, who is the wife of the son of U.S. Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr., sent an email on May 8 informing her colleagues that she is returning to the private sector.
In her message, she wrote: "Motherhood is the greatest gift from God, and after two years of working on the campaign and a year of serving in this extraordinary administration, I must ensure that my family has everything they need," noting that Kennedy did not mention Iran in her message, in which she praised Trump.
The newspaper pointed out that Kennedy, who held intelligence positions simultaneously, confirmed in her message that next Friday would be her last day in the job, expressing hope to retain her position on the Presidential Intelligence Advisory Board, which provides the president with independent advice on the legality and effectiveness of U.S. spying programs and is chaired by Devin Nunes, a former congressman and longtime Trump ally.
It is worth noting that Kennedy served as deputy to Gabbard in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, as an assistant director in the Office of Management and Budget overseeing covert intelligence budgets, and as a member of the Presidential Intelligence Advisory Board.
Additionally, the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, announced his resignation last March due to disagreements with the president regarding the war in Iran.
