توقع مسؤولان إسرائيليان كبيران اليوم (الإثنين) أن يزور المبعوث الأمريكي ستيف ويتكوف إسرائيل لعقد اجتماعات مع رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو وقائد الجيش، موضحة أن زيارة ويتكوف إلى إسرائيل من المتوقع أن تبدأ غداً (الثلاثاء).
وقال مسؤول إسرائيلي ثالث إن اجتماعات ويتكوف ستكون للتحضير للمحادثات المحتمل استئنافها بين طهران وواشنطن، وستأتي عقب اجتماع عقد بين رئيس أركان الجيش الإسرائيلي إيال زامير ونظيره الأمريكي الجنرال دان كين بواشنطن في مطلع الأسبوع.
ويستعد المبعوث الأمريكي إلى الشرق الأوسط ستيف ويتكوف ووزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي لعقد لقاء، يوم (الجمعة) القادم، في إسطنبول لبحث احتمال التوصل إلى اتفاق نووي، في أول تواصل بين الجانبين منذ توقف المفاوضات قبل الحرب التي استمرت 12 يوماً.
وأوضح مصدر مطلع على الترتيبات لـ«أكسيوس» أن «عقد الاجتماع (الجمعة) يُعد أفضل سيناريو ممكن»، مشيراً إلى عدم حسم شيء بعد، وذلك إلى أن يتم اللقاء فعلياً.
ويأتي الاجتماع المحتمل في وقت يتصاعد التوتر وسط حشد عسكري للبحرية الأمريكية قرب إيران.
وأفادت المصادر أن اللقاء المرتقب جاء نتيجة جهود دبلوماسية قادتها تركيا، ومصر، وقطر خلال الأيام الماضية، فيما ذكرت وسائل إعلام رسمية إيرانية أن الرئيس الإيراني مسعود بيزشكيان أصدر توجيهات باستئناف المفاوضات مع إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترمب.
من جانبه، قال مسؤول بوزارة الخارجية الإيرانية لوكالة «رويترز» إن طهران تدرس شروط استئناف المحادثات مع الولايات المتحدة قريباً.
وذكرت صحيفة «معاريف» أن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب يطالب إيران بخمسة مطالب صارمة، وهي تسليم نحو 400 كيلوغرام من اليورانيوم المخصّب، تفكيك برنامجها النووي، إلغاء برنامج الصواريخ البالستية، وقف البرنامج الصاروخي، إنهاء دعمها للجماعات الوكيلة في اليمن والعراق وسورية ولبنان.
Two senior Israeli officials predicted today (Monday) that U.S. envoy Steve Wittkoff will visit Israel for meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the army chief, noting that Wittkoff's visit to Israel is expected to begin tomorrow (Tuesday).
Another Israeli official stated that Wittkoff's meetings will be to prepare for the potential resumption of talks between Tehran and Washington, and will follow a meeting held between Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and his American counterpart General Dan Kin in Washington earlier this week.
The U.S. envoy to the Middle East, Steve Wittkoff, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are preparing to hold a meeting next (Friday) in Istanbul to discuss the possibility of reaching a nuclear agreement, marking the first contact between the two sides since negotiations halted before the 12-day war.
A source familiar with the arrangements told Axios that "holding the meeting (on Friday) is considered the best possible scenario," indicating that nothing is finalized yet until the meeting actually takes place.
The potential meeting comes at a time of rising tensions amid a military buildup of the U.S. Navy near Iran.
Sources reported that the anticipated meeting resulted from diplomatic efforts led by Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar in recent days, while Iranian state media mentioned that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued directives to resume negotiations with the administration of President Donald Trump.
For his part, an official from the Iranian Foreign Ministry told Reuters that Tehran is considering the conditions for resuming talks with the United States soon.
The newspaper Maariv reported that President Donald Trump is demanding five strict conditions from Iran, which are to hand over about 400 kilograms of enriched uranium, dismantle its nuclear program, cancel its ballistic missile program, stop its missile program, and end its support for proxy groups in Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon.
