اتهمت نائبة الرئيس الفنزويلي ديلسي رودريغيز الولايات المتحدة وجمهورية ترينيداد وتوباغو بالضلوع في ما وصفته بأنه «استفزاز عسكري منسق» يهدف إلى إشعال مواجهة مباشرة مع كاراكاس، متهمة وكالة الاستخبارات المركزية الأمريكية (CIA) بالوقوف وراء مخطط «هجوم مزيّف» في مياه البحر الكاريبي.
وقالت رودريغيز في بيان رسمي إن بلادها «ترصد عملية استفزازية مشتركة بين ترينيداد والولايات المتحدة عبر وكالة الاستخبارات الأمريكية»، مضيفة أن فنزويلا «ألقت القبض على مجموعة من المرتزقة يحملون معلومات مباشرة من الاستخبارات الأمريكية، وكان هدفهم تنفيذ هجوم زائف لتبرير عدوان عسكري على أراضينا».
وأضافت نائبة الرئيس أن «الهجوم المزيّف» يُخطّط لتنفيذه في المياه المشتركة بين البلدين أو انطلاقاً من الأراضي الفنزويلية أو التريندادية، مشددة على أن الهدف النهائي هو «جرّ المنطقة إلى مواجهة مفتوحة». ولم تقدّم الحكومة الفنزويلية أدلة مادية تدعم هذه الادعاءات حتى الآن.
ويأتي هذا التصعيد بعد أيام من إعلان الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أنه وافق على تفويض الـCIA تنفيذ «عمليات سرية» داخل فنزويلا، ما أثار غضب كاراكاس التي ترى في ذلك انتهاكاً لسيادتها.
وفي الوقت نفسه، تجري القوات البحرية الأمريكية وقوات دفاع ترينيداد وتوباغو مناورات عسكرية مشتركة في البحر الكاريبي، بمشاركة المدمّرة الأمريكية USS Gravely التي رست مؤخراً في ميناء بورت أوف سبين عاصمة ترينيداد لتعزيز التعاون الأمني في المنطقة.
وكان الرئيس الفنزويلي نيكولاس مادورو قد وجّه خلال الأشهر الأخيرة اتهامات متكررة إلى واشنطن بالتخطيط لـ«عمليات زائفة» تستهدف إشعال الفوضى في بلاده، بما في ذلك ما قال إنها «محاولة لتفجير السفارة الأمريكية في كاراكاس» مطلع أكتوبر الجاري.
وحتى لحظة نشر هذا الخبر، لم تُصدر وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية ولا وكالة الاستخبارات المركزية أي تعليق رسمي على تصريحات الحكومة الفنزويلية.
The Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez accused the United States and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago of being involved in what she described as a "coordinated military provocation" aimed at igniting a direct confrontation with Caracas, accusing the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of being behind a scheme for a "false attack" in Caribbean waters.
Rodríguez stated in an official statement that her country is "monitoring a provocative operation jointly between Trinidad and the United States through the American intelligence agency," adding that Venezuela "has arrested a group of mercenaries carrying direct information from American intelligence, and their goal was to carry out a false attack to justify military aggression on our territory."
The Vice President added that the "false attack" is planned to be executed in the shared waters between the two countries or launched from Venezuelan or Trinidadian territory, emphasizing that the ultimate goal is to "drag the region into an open confrontation." The Venezuelan government has not provided any material evidence to support these claims so far.
This escalation comes days after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he had approved a CIA mandate to carry out "covert operations" inside Venezuela, which angered Caracas, viewing it as a violation of its sovereignty.
At the same time, U.S. naval forces and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force are conducting joint military exercises in the Caribbean, with the participation of the American destroyer USS Gravely, which recently docked in Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad, to enhance security cooperation in the region.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has repeatedly accused Washington in recent months of planning "false operations" aimed at igniting chaos in his country, including what he claimed was an "attempt to blow up the U.S. embassy in Caracas" earlier this October.
As of the time of publishing this news, neither the U.S. State Department nor the CIA has issued any official comment on the Venezuelan government's statements.
