أعلن مصدر في الجيش السوداني انسحاب قواته من بعض المواقع في مدينة الفاشر عاصمة ولاية شمال دارفور غربي البلاد لأسباب تكتيكية، بحسب قوله.
وأكد المصدر انسحاب قوات الجيش من مقر الفرقة السادسة مشاة في الفاشر بعد قتال عنيف مع قوات الدعم السريع
لكن مستشار قائد قوات الدعم السريع الباشا طبيق، أعلن السيطرة على مقر الفرقة السادسة مشاة التابعة للجيش السوداني في الفاشر.
وأفادت مصادر سودانية و شهود عيان باندلاع معارك محتدمة في عدة مواقع في محيط الفرقة السادسة، صباح اليوم الأحد.
وذكرت المصادر أن قوات الجيش والقوات المساندة لها انسحبت من مقراتها في الفرقة السادسة وأكدت أنها ستعمل على ترتيب صفوفها والعمل على استعادة تلك المواقع.
وشهدت مدينة الفاشر خلال الأيام الماضية عمليات عسكرية عنيفة بين قوات الجيش والدعم السريع، تمكنت من خلالها الدعم السريع من الوصول إلى قيادة الفرقة السادسة مشاة الواقعة وسط المدينة، فيما شهد المحور الشمالي نزوح آلاف المدنيين إلى خارج المدينة بسبب احتدام القتال.
وحاصرت قوات الدعم السريع المدينة على مدار الثمانية عشر شهراً الماضية، واستهدفت المدنيين بهجمات متكررة بالطائرات المسيرة والمدفعية، بينما أدى الحصار إلى انتشار المجاعة في أنحاء المدينة التي لا يزال يقطنها 250 ألف نسمة.
وتُعدّ الفاشر مركزا أساسيا للعمليات الإنسانية في ولايات إقليم دارفور الخمس، وتخضع منذ 10 مايو 2024 لحصار تفرضه قوات الدعم السريع، وسط تحذيرات دولية من تداعيات كارثية على المدنيين.
ومنذ اندلاع الحرب يوم 15 أبريل 2023، قُتل نحو 20 ألف شخص وتشرد أكثر من 15 مليونا بين نازح ولاجئ، وفقا لتقارير أممية ومحلية.
A source in the Sudanese army announced the withdrawal of its forces from some locations in the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state in western Sudan, for tactical reasons, according to his statement.
The source confirmed the withdrawal of army forces from the headquarters of the sixth infantry division in El Fasher after fierce fighting with the Rapid Support Forces.
However, the advisor to the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Bashar Tabik, announced the takeover of the headquarters of the sixth infantry division belonging to the Sudanese army in El Fasher.
Sudanese sources and eyewitnesses reported the outbreak of intense battles in several locations around the sixth division this morning, Sunday.
The sources indicated that the army forces and their supporting troops withdrew from their positions in the sixth division and confirmed that they would work on regrouping and attempting to regain those locations.
El Fasher has witnessed violent military operations in recent days between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, during which the Rapid Support Forces managed to reach the leadership of the sixth infantry division located in the city center, while the northern axis saw the displacement of thousands of civilians outside the city due to the intensifying fighting.
The Rapid Support Forces have besieged the city for the past eighteen months, targeting civilians with repeated attacks using drones and artillery, while the siege has led to the spread of famine throughout the city, which is still home to 250,000 residents.
El Fasher is considered a key center for humanitarian operations in the five states of the Darfur region and has been under siege imposed by the Rapid Support Forces since May 10, 2024, amid international warnings of catastrophic consequences for civilians.
Since the outbreak of the war on April 15, 2023, nearly 20,000 people have been killed, and more than 15 million have been displaced as either internally displaced persons or refugees, according to UN and local reports.
