رغم تمديد اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار بين الجيش السوري وقوات سورية الديمقراطية «قسد»، واصل الطرفان تبادل الاتهامات.
وزعمت «قسد»، اليوم (الإثنين)، أن قوات الجيش انتهكت الهدنة وقصفت مناطق في جنوب شرق عين العرب «كوباني». وأفادت في بيان بأن الاشتباكات مستمرة على عدة محاور في بلدتي خراب عشك والجلبية، الواقعتين جنوب شرقي مدينة عين العرب. ولفتت إلى أن اشتباكات عنيفة اندلعت بين قواتها والجيش، مضيفة أنها «تواصل التصدي للهجوم»، في بلدة الجلبية.
وذكرت «قسد» أن قوات الجيش جلبت تعزيزات عسكرية إضافية تشمل دبابات وآليات مدرعة، بالتزامن مع تحليق مكثف للطيران المسيّر التركي في أجواء المنطقة. واعتبرت أن هذه الهجمات تمثل خرقاً واضحاً وصريحاً لاتفاق وقف إطلاق النار.
وكان الجيش السوري اتهم قوات سورية الديمقراطية باستهداف مواقع انتشاره في محيط منطقة عين العرب بعشرات الطائرات المسيرة، واستهداف طريق رئيسي. وأعلن الجيش أنه «يدرس خياراته الميدانية حالياً رداً على استهداف الأهالي ومواقع انتشاره».
جاءت هذه الاتهامات على الرغم من إعلان الطرفين، أمس الأول، تمديد اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار 15 يوماً، بعد أسابيع من المواجهات العنيفة، بوساطة الولايات المتحدة.
وأتت كذلك بعدما انسحبت «قسد» منذ نهاية الأسبوع الماضي من محافظتي الرقة (شمال) ودير الزور (شرق)، حيث غالبية السكان عربية، مقابل تقدّم للقوات الحكومية.
يذكر أن القوات الحكومية باتت على تخوم عين العرب الواقعة في أقصى شمال محافظة حلب قرب الحدود مع تركيا، والمعزولة عن بقية مناطق القوات الكردية التي انسحبت إلى معقلها في الحسكة (شمال شرق).
Despite the extension of the ceasefire agreement between the Syrian army and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), both sides continued to exchange accusations.
The SDF claimed today (Monday) that the army violated the truce and shelled areas in the southeast of Ain al-Arab (Kobani). They reported in a statement that clashes are ongoing on several fronts in the towns of Kharab Ashk and Jalabiya, located southeast of Ain al-Arab city. They noted that fierce clashes erupted between their forces and the army, adding that they "continue to fend off the attack" in the town of Jalabiya.
The SDF mentioned that the army brought in additional military reinforcements, including tanks and armored vehicles, coinciding with intense flights of Turkish drones in the region's airspace. They considered these attacks a clear and explicit violation of the ceasefire agreement.
The Syrian army accused the Syrian Democratic Forces of targeting its positions around the Ain al-Arab area with dozens of drones and targeting a main road. The army announced that it is "currently assessing its field options in response to the targeting of civilians and its positions."
These accusations came despite both sides announcing the extension of the ceasefire agreement for 15 days the day before yesterday, following weeks of violent confrontations, mediated by the United States.
This also followed the SDF's withdrawal since the end of last week from the Raqqa (north) and Deir ez-Zor (east) governorates, where the majority of the population is Arab, in exchange for advances by government forces.
It is noteworthy that government forces have reached the outskirts of Ain al-Arab, located in the far north of Aleppo province near the border with Turkey, isolated from the rest of the Kurdish areas that have retreated to their stronghold in Hasakah (northeast).
