تواجه الحكومة العراقية أزمة جديدة تتمثّل في معرفة مصير العراقيين الذين يقاتلون إلى جانب الجيش الروسي في حرب أوكرانيا.
وزارة الخارجية العراقية التزمت الصمت حيال هذه القضية ورفضت مصادر الوزارة الرد على أسئلة «عكاظ»، مكتفية بالقول إنها تتابع مع السفارة العراقية في موسكو البلاغات عن فقدان عائلات عراقية مقيمة في روسيا الاتصال مع أبنائها.
وأبلغ عدد من العائلات العراقية السفارة في موسكو بفقدان الاتصال بأبنائها الذين توجهوا للقتال إلى جانب القوات الروسية في الحرب الدائرة ضد أوكرانيا، في تطور يرسخ خطورة الأمر الذي لم يعد محض معلومات مغلوطة حول التحاق الشباب إلى الجبهة الأكثر دموية في أوروبا، فيما أخطرت إحدى العائلات من محافظة ذي قار بفقدان التواصل مع ابنها منذ أكثر من شهر ونصف الشهر بعد سفره إلى روسيا. وأبلغت عائلة أخرى من جنوب العراق أنها تلقت معلومات تفيد بإصابة ابنها بجروح خطيرة.
يذكر أن العديد من المقاتلين العراقيين المشاركين في الحرب الروسية الأوكرانية، ناشدوا بإعادتهم إلى العراق بعدما زجوا بأنفسهم في الحرب المستعرة منذ مطلع عام 2022، لكن دون رد رسمي حول ذلك.
وكان السفير الروسي في العراق ألبروس كوتراشيف، قال في تصريح إن «آلاف العراقيين» مستعدون للانضمام إلى الجيش الروسي إذا فُتح الباب أمامهم، حسب قوله.
وينص القانون الروسي على أنه يحق لأي مواطن أجنبي مقيم في روسيا ويجيد اللغة الروسية التعاقد مع الجيش الروسي وفق عقد رسمي براتب محدد يراوح بين 2,500 – 3,000 دولار.
وتفيد المعلومات بأن أغلب الذين التحقوا بالجيش الروسي هم من الوافدين إلى موسكو بهدف السياحة أو ممن اتخذوا منها بوابة آمنة لتحقيق أحلامهم في الدول الأوربية.
ووفق مصادر مطلعة فإن العروض اللافتة التي تقدمها بعض شركات السياحة في بغداد والمحافظات تحت لافتة السياحة للتعرف على معالم الدول الأوربية إلى جانب روسيا وأوكرانيا وبأسعار مناسبة، وأحياناً تقدم سفرات بنظام الأقساط الميسرة، أسهمت في استقطاب الآلاف من الشباب للسفر إلى روسيا وأوكرانيا.

Several Iraqi families have informed the embassy in Moscow about losing contact with their sons who went to fight alongside Russian forces in the ongoing war against Ukraine, in a development that underscores the seriousness of the situation, which is no longer just misinformation about young people joining the most deadly front in Europe. One family from Dhi Qar province reported losing communication with their son for more than a month and a half after he traveled to Russia. Another family from southern Iraq stated that they received information indicating that their son was seriously injured.
It is worth noting that many Iraqi fighters participating in the Russian-Ukrainian war have called for their return to Iraq after they plunged into the raging conflict since the beginning of 2022, but there has been no official response regarding this matter.
The Russian ambassador to Iraq, Albus Kotrachev, stated in a comment that "thousands of Iraqis" are ready to join the Russian army if the door is opened to them, according to his statement.
Russian law stipulates that any foreign citizen residing in Russia who speaks Russian has the right to contract with the Russian army under an official contract with a specified salary ranging from $2,500 to $3,000.
Information indicates that most of those who joined the Russian army are newcomers to Moscow for tourism purposes or those who have taken it as a safe gateway to achieve their dreams in European countries.
According to informed sources, the attractive offers provided by some tourism companies in Baghdad and the provinces under the banner of tourism to explore the landmarks of European countries alongside Russia and Ukraine, at reasonable prices, and sometimes offering trips on an installment basis, have contributed to attracting thousands of young people to travel to Russia and Ukraine.
