فيما وجهت روسيا انتقادات لاذعة ضد العقوبات الأمريكية الجديدة عليها والتي قالت إنها لن تجدي نفعاً، وإنها «محصّنة» ضدّها، أقرّ الاتحاد الأوروبي رسميا اليوم (الخميس)، الحزمة التاسعة عشرة من العقوبات ضد روسيا.
وتضمنت الحزمة الجديدة حظراً على واردات الغاز الطبيعي المسال الروسي إلى دول الاتحاد، إلى جانب إجراءات إضافية تستهدف قطاعي النفط والطاقة، وعدداً من الأفراد والكيانات المرتبطة بالكرملين، بالإضافة إلى فرض عقوبات على أكثر من 100 ناقلة تشحن النفط الروسي.
حزمة العقوبات الـ20 على روسيا
وقالت إستونيا إن الاتحاد الأوروبي بدأ العمل على حزمة العقوبات الـ20 ضد روسيا، بعد موافقة الدول الأعضاء بالإجماع على العقوبة الـ19، وتراجع سلوفاكيا عن تحفظها الذي كان يعرقل اعتماد الحزمة الجديدة.
وفي سياق متصل، وصف نائب رئيس مجلس الأمن القومي الروسي دميتري ميدفيديف، الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بـ«حارس السلام في حربه مع روسيا»، معتبراً أن قرارات ترمب ضد موسكو بمثابة عمل حربي.
آثار العقوبات الأمريكية على روسيا
وقال ميدفيديف: «الرئيس الأمريكي متضامن تماماً مع أوروبا المجنونة».
بدورها، أكدت وزارة الخارجية الروسية أن العقوبات الأمريكية تكرار لنهج إدارة الرئيس السابق جو بايدن وستؤدي لفشل ذريع، موضحة على لسان المتحدثة باسم الوزارة ماريا زاخاروفا، أن العقوبات الأمريكية على قطاع الطاقة لها آثار عكسية للغاية على تحقيق السلام في أوكرانيا.
وأشارت إلى أن أهداف روسيا في أوكرانيا لم تتغير، مشددة على وجوب حل الأسباب الجذرية للصراع.
وقالت الخارجية الروسية إنها مستعدة لمواصلة الاتصالات مع الخارجية الأمريكية.
وكان وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ماركو روبيو قال في وقت سابق اليوم، إن بلاده ما زالت تريد لقاء روسيا والتحاور معها.
While Russia directed sharp criticisms against the new American sanctions imposed on it, stating that they would be ineffective and that it is "fortified" against them, the European Union officially approved today (Thursday) the nineteenth package of sanctions against Russia.
The new package included a ban on imports of Russian liquefied natural gas to EU countries, along with additional measures targeting the oil and energy sectors, as well as a number of individuals and entities linked to the Kremlin, in addition to imposing sanctions on more than 100 tankers transporting Russian oil.
The 20th Sanctions Package Against Russia
Estonia stated that the European Union has begun working on the 20th sanctions package against Russia, after member states unanimously approved the 19th sanction, and Slovakia withdrew its reservation that was obstructing the adoption of the new package.
In a related context, Russian National Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev described U.S. President Donald Trump as the "peacekeeper in his war with Russia," considering Trump's decisions against Moscow as acts of war.
Effects of American Sanctions on Russia
Medvedev stated: "The American president is completely in solidarity with crazy Europe."
For its part, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the American sanctions are a repetition of the approach of former President Joe Biden's administration and will lead to a disastrous failure, clarifying through the ministry's spokesperson Maria Zakharova that American sanctions on the energy sector have extremely counterproductive effects on achieving peace in Ukraine.
It pointed out that Russia's objectives in Ukraine have not changed, emphasizing the need to address the root causes of the conflict.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that it is ready to continue communications with the U.S. State Department.
Earlier today, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that his country still wants to meet and engage in dialogue with Russia.
