فيما يعد تراجعاً عن الخطة الأمريكية، أعلن وزير الدفاع الإسرائيلي يسرائيل كاتس، أن الجيش سيعيد التمركز، لكنه سيستمر في السيطرة على المناطق ذات الأهمية الاستراتيجية داخل غزة.
وقال كاتس في خطاب ألقاه، اليوم (الأحد) في القدس المحلتلة، إنه قد يبَشّر عائلات الرهائن قريباً بعودة جميع الأسرى إلى ديارهم، الأحياء والأموات على حد سواء، وفقا للمبادرة الأمريكية.
سبب التحوّل المحتمل
وأضاف أن في نهاية خطة ترمب سيتم نزع سلاح حركة حماس وتجريد قطاع غزة من السلاح، كما سيبقى الجيش الإسرائيلي في مناطق سيطَرَة لحماية المستوطنات وسيعمل ضد أي تهديد، وفق زعمه.
وتحدث عما أسماه «سبب التحول المحتمل في موقف حماس»، معتبراً أن شدة الضغط الذي تمارسه إسرائيل على مدينة غزة، وقرار احتلالها، وانهيار المباني متعددة الطوابق، وقوة مناورة الجيش في المدينة ما أدى إلى نزوح نحو 900 ألف من سكان غزة جنوباً.
واعتبر أن الضغط الهائل على حماس والدول الداعمة لها التي خشيت من انهيارها هو ما شكّل القاعدة لمبادرة الحسم التي أطلقها الرئيس ترمب.
وهدد كاتس بأنه في حال رفضت حماس الإفراج عن الأسرى، فسيعيد الجيش الإسرائيلي تصعيد قوة النيران حتى إخضاع الحركة وإطلاق الجميع، بحسب قوله.
منطقة عازلة داخل غزة
وكان رئيس وزراء الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو، أكد قبل الإعلان عن خطة ترمب، أن الجيش سيعيد التمركز، لكنه سيستمر في السيطرة على المناطق ذات الأهمية الاستراتيجية داخل غزة. وشدد على أنه سيجري نزع سلاح حماس وتجريد القطاع من السلاح، إما دبلوماسياً بما يتفق مع خطة ترمب أو عن طريق العمل العسكري. وكرر الحديث عن أن الجيش الإسرائيلي سيبقى في عمق قطاع غزة.
من جهتها، أفصحت مصادر إسرائيلية مطلعة أن مسؤولين إسرائيليين نقلوا رسالة إلى واشنطن تحوي تفاصيل خطة تتضمن بقاء الجيش الإسرائيلي في منطقة عازلة داخل حدود القطاع (لم تحدد عمقها أو مساحتها)، ومحور فيلادلفي على الحدود مع مصر، ومنطقة تلة الـ70، المعروفة محلياً باسم «تلة المنطار»، والتي تقع شرق حي الشجاعية شرقي مدينة غزة وترتفع نحو 70 متراً فوق سطح البحر وتمنح سيطرة نارية وبصرية على مساحات واسعة من شمال القطاع بما فيها مدينة غزة وبلدة ومخيم جباليا، وفق هيئة البث الإسرائيلية.
مباحثات غير مباشرة
وأعلن نتنياهو توجه وفد إسرائيلي إلى مصر لمناقشة بقية التفاصيل، وقال «أصدرت توجيهاتي للوفد المفاوض من أجل التوجه إلى مصر لإنجاز التفاصيل التقنية»، مبدياً عزمه على أن «تقتصر المفاوضات على بضعة أيام»، من دون أن يحدد موعد بدئها.
فيما كشفت مصادر مصرية أن مباحثات غير مباشرة ستعقد بين حماس وإسرائيل (الأحد والاثنين). وأعلن مسؤول في البيت الأبيض أمس، أن جاريد كوشنر صهر ترمب ومبعوثه إلى الشرق الأوسط ستيف ويتكوف توجها إلى القاهرة للبحث في الإفراج عن الأسرى.
In what is considered a retreat from the American plan, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the army will reposition itself but will continue to control strategically important areas within Gaza.
Katz stated in a speech he delivered today (Sunday) in occupied Jerusalem that he may soon bring good news to the families of the hostages regarding the return of all prisoners to their homes, both the living and the dead, according to the American initiative.
Possible Reason for the Shift
He added that by the end of Trump's plan, the disarmament of Hamas will take place, and the Gaza Strip will be stripped of weapons, while the Israeli army will remain in control areas to protect the settlements and will act against any threat, according to his claims.
He spoke about what he called "the possible reason for the shift in Hamas's position," considering that the intensity of pressure exerted by Israel on the city of Gaza, the decision to occupy it, the collapse of multi-story buildings, and the army's maneuvering power in the city have led to the displacement of about 900,000 residents of Gaza to the south.
He believed that the immense pressure on Hamas and its supporting countries, which feared its collapse, formed the basis for the decisive initiative launched by President Trump.
Katz threatened that if Hamas refused to release the prisoners, the Israeli army would escalate its firepower until the movement was subdued and everyone was released, according to his statement.
Buffer Zone Inside Gaza
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed before the announcement of Trump's plan that the army would reposition itself but would continue to control strategically important areas within Gaza. He emphasized that Hamas would be disarmed and the sector stripped of weapons, either diplomatically in accordance with Trump's plan or through military action. He reiterated that the Israeli army would remain deep inside the Gaza Strip.
For its part, informed Israeli sources revealed that Israeli officials conveyed a message to Washington containing details of a plan that includes the Israeli army remaining in a buffer zone within the borders of the sector (the depth or area was not specified), the Philadelphi Route on the border with Egypt, and the area of Hill 70, locally known as "Muntar Hill," which is located east of the Shuja'iyya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City and rises about 70 meters above sea level, providing fire and visual control over large areas of northern Gaza, including Gaza City and the Jabalia town and camp, according to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority.
Indirect Talks
Netanyahu announced that an Israeli delegation is heading to Egypt to discuss the remaining details, stating, "I have instructed the negotiating delegation to head to Egypt to finalize the technical details," expressing his intention for "the negotiations to last only a few days," without specifying a start date.
Meanwhile, Egyptian sources revealed that indirect talks will be held between Hamas and Israel (on Sunday and Monday). A White House official announced yesterday that Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and his envoy to the Middle East, and Steve Witkoff have headed to Cairo to discuss the release of the prisoners.
