President Donald Trump praised the contributions of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan in preparing the peace plan for the Gaza Strip, expressing hope for the return of all hostages to their families.

In a recorded speech following Hamas's approval of the plan to end the war in Gaza, President Trump stated that everyone wants peace in the Middle East and that they will achieve it. He added, “We are experiencing a great and unprecedented day to end the war in Gaza and bring back the hostages.” He confirmed that Washington has made significant efforts to reach the Gaza plan, saying, “We want justice for all.”

Trump considered that the movement shows readiness for “lasting peace” and called on Israel to immediately stop its bombardment of the region.

Stop Bombing Gaza

He wrote on his account on the “Truth Social” platform: “Based on the statement issued by Hamas, I believe they are ready for lasting peace. Israel must stop bombing Gaza immediately, so we can safely and quickly bring out the hostages! Right now, it is very dangerous to do so. We are already discussing details that need to be agreed upon. This is not just about Gaza; it is about the long-awaited peace in the Middle East.” The American president posted a picture on his account showing Hamas's response in English to his plan.

Acceptance and Negotiation

Hamas announced its acceptance of some provisions of the American plan, stating that other provisions require further negotiation.

In a statement last night (Friday), it mentioned that it had conducted “in-depth consultations within its leadership institutions, and extensive consultations with Palestinian forces and factions, as well as with mediators and friends, to arrive at a responsible position in dealing with Trump's plan.

International Welcome

International reactions welcoming Hamas's approval followed, with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcoming Hamas's announcement that it is ready to release the hostages under the proposed Trump plan.

French President Emmanuel Macron considered that the release of all hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza are now “within reach.” Macron wrote on the “X” platform: “The release of all hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza are within reach.”

For his part, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that “peace in Gaza and the release of hostages are now within reach,” adding in a post on the “X” platform that the American plan represents “the best opportunity to achieve peace in the region.”

Elements of the Peace Plan

The elements of President Trump's plan are embodied in the immediate end of the war in the Palestinian territory in exchange for the release of hostages, in addition to the release of between 100 and 200 Palestinian prisoners with severe sentences. It includes offering amnesty to Hamas in exchange for leaving Gaza and handing over weapons, with the collection of the movement's weapons to be carried out by an international Arab force within a specified period.

The plan stipulates the closure of the Gaza humanitarian institution, thus allowing humanitarian aid to enter immediately without restrictions, with this responsibility entrusted to the United Nations and international organizations.

The plan emphasizes a gradual Israeli withdrawal from the entire Gaza Strip leading to a complete withdrawal within a timeline, and the establishment of safe corridors for the residents of the region.

The reconstruction of Gaza is included over five years through an international coalition, while a Palestinian security force will be established to manage the region under Arab and international supervision.
