أعلنت وزارة الخارجية السورية، اليوم (الخميس)، وصول الوزير أسعد الشيباني إلى واشنطن، في أول زيارة رسمية لمسؤول بهذا المستوى منذ أكثر من 25 عاما.
ونقل موقع «أكسيوس» الأمريكي عن السيناتور لينزي غراهام قوله، إن وزير الخارجية السوري سيجتمع مع مشرعين أمريكيين في واشنطن هذا الأسبوع لمناقشة رفع العقوبات الأمريكية المتبقية على بلاده والتي فرضت بموجب قوانين، مثل قانون قيصر، ورفعها بشكل دائم.
إلغاء العقوبات
وأوضح غراهام أنه سيدعم إلغاء تلك العقوبات إذا تحركت سورية رسمياً نحو إبرام اتفاق أمني جديد مع إسرائيل، والانضمام إلى تحالف ضد تنظيم داعش الإرهابي، ومن المقرر أن يجتمع الشيباني مع وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ماركو روبيو، غداً (الجمعة).
وكان الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع قال أمس -الذي من المقرر أن يزور أمريكا الأسبوع القادم لحضور الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة- إن مفاوضات سورية مع إسرائيل للتوصل إلى اتفاق أمني قد تؤدي إلى نتائج في الأيام القادمة.
وتسعى واشنطن إلى دمج حلفائها الأكراد في سورية مع الإدارة المركزية في دمشق تحت قيادة الرئيس أحمد الشرع، كما تتوسط بين إسرائيل وسورية.
مفاوضات مع إسرائيل
وقال الشرع، الذي من المقرر أن يزور نيويورك الأسبوع القادم لحضور انعقاد الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة، إن المفاوضات الرامية للتوصل إلى اتفاق أمني مع إسرائيل قد تسفر عن نتائج في الأيام القادمة.
ونقلت وسائل إعلام غربية عن مصدر في وزارة الخارجية السورية في دمشق، اليوم، أن سورية وإسرائيل ستبرمان «اتفاقيات متتالية» قبل نهاية العام الحالي، مشيراً إلى أن هناك تقدّماً في المحادثات مع إسرائيل، وستكون هناك اتفاقيات متتالية أمنية وعسكرية.

The American website "Axios" reported that Senator Lindsey Graham stated that the Syrian Foreign Minister will meet with American lawmakers in Washington this week to discuss lifting the remaining American sanctions on his country, which were imposed under laws such as the Caesar Act, and lifting them permanently.
Cancellation of Sanctions
Graham clarified that he would support the cancellation of those sanctions if Syria officially moves towards concluding a new security agreement with Israel and joining a coalition against the ISIS terrorist organization. Al-Shaybani is scheduled to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio tomorrow (Friday).
Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara said yesterday—who is set to visit America next week to attend the United Nations General Assembly—that negotiations between Syria and Israel to reach a security agreement could yield results in the coming days.
Washington is seeking to integrate its Kurdish allies in Syria with the central administration in Damascus under President Ahmad Al-Shara's leadership, while also mediating between Israel and Syria.
Negotiations with Israel
Al-Shara, who is scheduled to visit New York next week to attend the United Nations General Assembly, stated that negotiations aimed at reaching a security agreement with Israel could result in outcomes in the coming days.
Western media reported today, citing a source in the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Damascus, that Syria and Israel will conclude "successive agreements" before the end of this year, indicating that there has been progress in talks with Israel, and there will be successive security and military agreements.
