فيما يواصل مجموعة من القادة العسكريين في واشنطن، مناقشات لوضع خيارات من أجل تقديم ضمانات أمنية لأوكرانيا بينهم رئيس هيئة الأركان المشتركة الأمريكية دان كين و6 من قادة الدفاع في حلف شمال الأطلسي، جدد نائب رئيس مجلس الأمن الروسي، دميتري ميدفيديف اليوم (الأربعاء)، رفض بلاده وجود أية قوات لحلف الناتو في أوكرانيا تحت ستار «قوات حفظ السلام».
وكتب ميدفيديف على منصة «إكس»، اليوم: «لا يستطيع «الديك الفرنسي»، التخلي عن فكرة إرسال قوات إلى أوكرانيا تحت ستار قوات حفظ السلام»، مضيفاً: «لقد قيل صراحة، لا قوات للناتو في أوكرانيا كقوات حفظ سلام، روسيا لن تقبل مثل هذه الضمانات الأمنية».
وشدد بالقول: «لكن الديك يواصل صياحه».
وكانت وسائل إعلام غربية قد نقلت عن مسؤول غربي قوله إن مجموعة تواصل مناقشاتها في واشنطن لكنها لم تتواصل إلى نتائج بعد نظراً لعدم مناقشة مسألة الضمانات الأمنية بالتفصيل في مؤتمر عبر الفيديو لجميع قادة الدفاع في حلف شمال الأطلسي في وقت سابق من اليوم، متوقعاً عقد اجتماعات أخرى لقادة الدفاع في صيغة أوسع، من أجل مناقشة أي خيارات يتم التوصل إليها في المجموعة الأصغر.
وقال المسؤول إنه لم يتحدد إطار زمني للمناقشات، وسيُترك القرار النهائي للقادة السياسيين.
في الوقت ذاته، قال وزير الخارجية الروسي سيرجي لافروف اليوم إنه لا يرى دبلوماسية أوروبية في ما يتعلق بالحرب في أوكرانيا، مشيراً إلى وجود محاولات داخل التكتل الأوروبي لتغيير موقف الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب من هذا الملف.
وأضاف: «إدارة الرئيس ترمب، ومنذ دخولها البيت الأبيض، تركز بالفعل على الدبلوماسية في الملف الأوكراني، بهدف التوصل إلى تسوية متوازنة تُعالج جذور الأزمة وتمنع تجددها، وهو ما يجب أن يكون جوهر أي حل سياسي لأي نزاع».
As a group of military leaders in Washington continues discussions to establish options for providing security guarantees to Ukraine, including U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Dan Keen and six NATO defense leaders, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev reiterated today (Wednesday) his country's rejection of any NATO forces in Ukraine under the guise of "peacekeeping forces."
Medvedev wrote on the "X" platform today: "The 'French rooster' cannot abandon the idea of sending forces to Ukraine under the guise of peacekeeping forces," adding: "It has been stated clearly, no NATO forces in Ukraine as peacekeepers, Russia will not accept such security guarantees."
He emphasized by saying: "But the rooster continues to crow."
Western media reported that a Western official stated that the group is continuing its discussions in Washington but has not reached any conclusions yet, as the issue of security guarantees was not discussed in detail during a video conference for all NATO defense leaders earlier today, expecting further meetings of defense leaders in a broader format to discuss any options reached in the smaller group.
The official noted that no timeline has been set for the discussions, and the final decision will be left to political leaders.
At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated today that he does not see European diplomacy regarding the war in Ukraine, pointing to attempts within the European bloc to change U.S. President Donald Trump's position on this issue.
He added: "The Trump administration, since entering the White House, has indeed focused on diplomacy regarding the Ukrainian issue, aiming to reach a balanced settlement that addresses the roots of the crisis and prevents its recurrence, which should be the essence of any political solution to any conflict."
