يخوض المنتخب السعودي مواجهة أمام منتخب جزر القمر لحساب الجولة الثانية من مباريات كأس العرب 2025 المقامة حالياً في قطر. وسيتعين على نجوم الأخضر خوض المواجهة بغياب مدربهم الفرنسي هيرفي رينارد، لكن الغريب في الأمر أن الغياب لم يكن لإيقاف أو لأسباب قاهرة أو اضطرارية يمر بها المدرب، بل جاء نظراً لحضوره فعاليات قرعة كأس العالم 2026 المقامة في التوقيت ذاته في العاصمة الأمريكية (واشنطن)!
وبرر رئيس الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم ياسر المسحل هذا الموقف، بقوله: «تلقيت طلباً شخصياً من رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم جياني إنفانتينو على هامش افتتاح بطولة كأس العرب، وطلب بالاسم حضور المدرب هيرفي رينارد نظراً لوجود ورش عمل مصاحبة للقرعة سيتم من خلالها اتخاذ بعض القرارات الخاصة باللعبة، خصوصاً أن رينارد يملك خبرة كبيرة وسيشارك في نهائيات كأس العالم القادمة كمدرب للمرة الثالثة».
وفي ظل تلبية طلب الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم بحضور المدرب لورش العمل والاستفادة من خبراته رغم ارتباطه بعقد رسمي مع اتحاد الكرة السعودي ووجود مباراة رسمية للأخضر في كأس العرب، يبقى السؤال المهم: كيف يفسر هذا الموقف، وتحت أي بند من الممكن أن نصف تلبية طلب الفيفا لحضور شرفي على حساب خوض المنتخب مباراة رسمية؟ أم أن اتحاد الكرة لا يضع من أهدافه كسب بطولة كأس العرب، أو أن مبارياتها ليست بذات الأهمية بالنسبة له!
The Saudi national team is facing the Comoros national team in the second round of the Arab Cup 2025 matches currently taking place in Qatar. The President of the Saudi Football Federation, Yasser Al-Mishal, justified this situation by saying: “I received a personal request from the President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, on the sidelines of the opening of the Arab Cup, requesting the presence of coach Hervé Renard due to the workshops accompanying the draw, during which some decisions regarding the game will be made, especially since Renard has extensive experience and will participate in the upcoming World Cup as a coach for the third time.”
In light of the FIFA's request for the coach to attend the workshops and benefit from his expertise despite his official contract with the Saudi Football Federation and the existence of an official match for the Green team in the Arab Cup, the important question remains: How can this situation be explained, and under what clause can we describe the fulfillment of FIFA's request for a ceremonial attendance at the expense of the national team playing an official match? Or does the Football Federation not consider winning the Arab Cup as one of its goals, or are its matches not of significant importance to it!
