في حادثة غير مسبوقة، اقتحم وزير الأمن القومي الإسرائيلي إيتمار بن غفير زنزانة العزل الانفرادي التي يُحتجز فيها الأسير الفلسطيني مروان البرغوثي، ووجّه له تهديداً مباشراً، كما ظهر في مقطع فيديو بثته وسائل الإعلام العبرية والعربية.
خلال الزيارة، قال «بن غفير» مخاطباً البرغوثي: «لن تنتصروا، ومن يستهدف شعب إسرائيل، ومن يقتل أبناءنا ونساءنا، سنمحوه».
رد الفعل الفلسطيني كان سريعاً، إذ حمّلت وزارة الخارجية الفلسطينية الحكومة الإسرائيلية المسؤولية الكاملة عن حياة البرغوثي وجميع الأسرى، ووصفت التهديد بأنه استفزاز غير مسبوق وإرهاب دولة منظم.
ووصف نائب الرئيس الفلسطيني حسين الشيخ التهديد بأنه قمة الإرهاب النفسي والمعنوي والجسدي، ودعا إلى تدخل فوري من المنظمات الدولية لحماية الأسرى.
وتواصلت المخاوف من عائلة البرغوثي التي وصفت حالته بأنها مصدر صدمة بسبب النحافة والإنهاك الشديد، معتبرة أن التحذير قد يُمهّد لتنفيذ تصفية داخلية.
In an unprecedented incident, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir stormed into the solitary confinement cell where Palestinian prisoner Marwan Barghouti is held, and issued him a direct threat, as shown in a video broadcast by Hebrew and Arabic media.
During the visit, Ben Gvir addressed Barghouti, saying: "You will not win, and those who target the people of Israel, and those who kill our sons and daughters, we will erase them."
The Palestinian reaction was swift, as the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the Israeli government fully responsible for Barghouti's life and the lives of all prisoners, describing the threat as an unprecedented provocation and organized state terrorism.
Palestinian Vice President Hussein Sheikh described the threat as the pinnacle of psychological, moral, and physical terrorism, calling for immediate intervention from international organizations to protect the prisoners.
Concerns continued to grow from Barghouti's family, who described his condition as a source of shock due to extreme thinness and exhaustion, considering that the warning may pave the way for an internal liquidation.
