أعلنت وزارة الدفاع التركية اليوم (الخميس) عزمها تزويد سورية بأنظمة أسلحة ووسائل لوجستية، بموجب اتفاق التعاون العسكري الذي جرى توقيعه بين البلدين في أنقرة أمس، مؤكدة أنها ستدرب الجيش السوري على استخدام هذه المعدات إذا لزم الأمر.
وقال مصدر بوزارة الدفاع التركية للصحفيين: «المذكرة تستهدف التنسيق والتخطيط للتدريب والتعاون العسكري، وتقديم الاستشارات وتبادل المعلومات والخبرات وضمان شراء المعدات العسكرية، وأنظمة الأسلحة والمواد اللوجستية، والخدمات ذات الصلة»، مبيناً أن الاتفاقية تتضمن التدريب والمشورة العسكرية.
وأفادت وكالة الأنباء السورية (سانا) بأن الاتفاقية تنص على تدريب وتقديم استشارات عسكرية على مستوى الوزارتين، وتشمل دورات تدريبية، وبرامج دعم فني لتعزيز إمكانات الجيش السوري.
ووقع وزير الدفاع التركي يشار جولر ونظيره السوري مرهف أبو قصرة في أنقرة اتفاقية تعاون عسكري مشترك تهدف إلى تعزيز قدرات الجيش السوري، وتطوير مؤسساته، وهيكليته، وتشمل الاتفاقية التبادل المنتظم للأفراد العسكريين، للمشاركة في دورات تدريبية متخصصة، بهدف رفع الجاهزية العملياتية، وتعزيز القدرة على العمل المشترك، والتدريب على المهارات المتخصصة، من خلال برامج في مجالات مكافحة الإرهاب، وإزالة الألغام، والدفاع السيبراني، والهندسة العسكرية، واللوجستيات، وعمليات حفظ السلام، وفقاً لأفضل الممارسات الدولية.
وتنص الاتفاقية على مساعدة فنية عبر إرسال خبراء مختصين لدعم عملية تحديث الأنظمة العسكرية، والهياكل التنظيمية، وقدرات القيادة،.
وتعدّ تركيا، العضو في حلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو)، أحد الحلفاء الرئيسيين لسورية منذ الإطاحة بالرئيس السابق بشار الأسد العام الماضي.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced today (Thursday) its intention to provide Syria with weapon systems and logistical means, under the military cooperation agreement signed between the two countries in Ankara yesterday, confirming that it will train the Syrian army on how to use this equipment if necessary.
A source from the Turkish Ministry of Defense told reporters: "The memorandum aims to coordinate and plan for training and military cooperation, provide consultations, exchange information and expertise, and ensure the purchase of military equipment, weapon systems, logistical materials, and related services," indicating that the agreement includes training and military advice.
The Syrian news agency (SANA) reported that the agreement stipulates training and providing military consultations at the ministerial level, including training courses and technical support programs to enhance the capabilities of the Syrian army.
The Turkish Minister of Defense, Yasar Guler, and his Syrian counterpart, Marhaf Abu Qasra, signed a joint military cooperation agreement in Ankara aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Syrian army and developing its institutions and structure. The agreement includes the regular exchange of military personnel to participate in specialized training courses, with the aim of increasing operational readiness, enhancing the ability to work together, and training in specialized skills through programs in areas such as counter-terrorism, mine clearance, cyber defense, military engineering, logistics, and peacekeeping operations, according to international best practices.
The agreement stipulates technical assistance through sending specialized experts to support the process of modernizing military systems, organizational structures, and command capabilities.
Turkey, a member of NATO, is considered one of Syria's main allies since the overthrow of former President Bashar al-Assad last year.
