أعلن الجيش الباكستاني، اليوم(الثلاثاء)، مقتل 50 مسلحا على الحدود مع أفغانستان خلال الأيام الأربعة الماضية، في إطار عمليات عسكرية متواصلة ضد الجماعات المسلحة في المناطق الحدودية.
وكانت مصادر أمنية أفادت أمس (الإثنين) بمقتل جندي واثنين من المسلحين، وإصابة 5 جنود آخرين، خلال اشتباك مسلح أعقب كمينا استهدف قوة أمنية في منطقتي وزيرستان الشمالية والجنوبية.
وذكرت صحيفة «دون» الباكستانية، أن الهجوم وقع عندما كانت القوات تتحرك من منطقة شوال في وزيرستان الشمالية باتجاه سيرناراي (جنوب وزيرستان العليا) حيث تعرضت لنيران كثيفة من مسلحين.
وأسفر الاشتباك عن إصابة 3 مسلحين آخرين بجروح، في حين واصلت القوات المسلحة عمليات التمشيط لجمع المعلومات الاستخباراتية وتحديد هوية المهاجمين وعلاقاتهم المحتملة بالتصعيد الأخير في نشاط المسلحين.
وتشهد مناطق وزيرستان الشمالية وجنوب وزيرستان العليا والسفلى تدهورا أمنيا حادا منذ العام الماضي، وسط تصاعد الهجمات المسلحة وانفجار العبوات الناسفة وحوادث الاغتيال والخطف، ما يثير قلقا واسعا بين السكان المحليين.

The Pakistani army announced today (Tuesday) the killing of 50 militants along the border with Afghanistan over the past four days, as part of ongoing military operations against armed groups in the border areas.
Security sources reported yesterday (Monday) that a soldier and two militants were killed, and five other soldiers were injured during an armed clash that followed an ambush targeting a security force in the North and South Waziristan regions.
The Pakistani newspaper "Dawn" reported that the attack occurred when the forces were moving from the Shawal area in North Waziristan towards Serna Ray (South Waziristan Upper) where they came under heavy fire from militants.
The clash resulted in three other militants being wounded, while the armed forces continued their combing operations to gather intelligence and identify the attackers and their potential links to the recent escalation in militant activity.
The North Waziristan and South Waziristan Upper and Lower areas have been experiencing severe security deterioration since last year, amid a rise in armed attacks, bomb explosions, assassination incidents, and kidnappings, raising widespread concern among local residents.
