كشف وزير الإعلام والثقافة والسياحة اليمني معمر الإرياني اليوم (السبت) أن حكومة بلاده بصدد إعداد ملف قانوني متكامل يوثق جريمة تزوير الحوثي للعملة الوطنية بعد ضخه عملة من فئة (200 و50 ريالاً) للاسواق اليمنية، موضحاً أن ما تعده الحكومة من ملف قانوني موثق يمهد لتقديمه إلى الجهات الدولية المعنية لاتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة بحق مرتكبي هذه الجريمة.
وحذر الإرياني في منشور على حسابه بـ«إكس» من تداعيات ضخ الحوثي كميات من العملة المزورة من فئة (200 ريال) في الأسواق، موضحاً أنها تشكل جريمة اقتصادية تهدف إلى نهب مدخرات المواطنين وتقويض الثقة بالعملة الوطنية، وتهدد بشكل مباشر الاقتصاد اليمني.
ودعا الإرياني، اليمنيين في بلاده إلى موقف وطني موحد، وجهد رسمي وشعبي، داخلي وخارجي، لمواجهة هذه الجريمة، ووقف هذه المهزلة الاقتصادية، وتجفيف منابع تمويل الحوثي، مطالباً المجتمع الدولي بإدراج القيادات الحوثية، والجهات والأفراد المتورطين في طباعة وتوزيع هذه الأوراق المزورة، ضمن قوائم العقوبات الدولية.

وأشاد الإرياني بموقف الشعب اليمني في مناطق سيطرة الحوثي وكشفه رداءة هذه العملة المزيفة، وسهولة إزالة ما يروج له كـ«شريط أمان» بمجرد المسح باليد، موضحاً أن ما يتم تداوله في السوق ليس سوى «أوراق ملونة» مطبوعة بطريقة بدائية، لا تساوي قيمة الحبر الذي طبعت به.
واعتبر الإرياني تزوير الحوثي للعملة، جزءاً من عملية نهب منظم تستهدف مدخرات المواطنين، ومئات الملايين من الدولارات التي يتم تحويلها من المغتربين اليمنيين في الخارج، وعلى رأسهم المقيمون في المملكة العربية السعودية، الذين بلغت تحويلاتهم خلال العام الماضي نحو 3.2 مليار دولار، وفقاً لبيانات البنك المركزي السعودي، فضلاً عن التحويلات القادمة من المحافظات المحررة إلى مناطق سيطرة الحوثي.
ولفت إلى أن الحوثي لا يكتفي بمصادرة فوارق صرف هذه التحويلات، بل يقوم بمبادلته لأسر المغتربين داخل اليمن بأوراق مزيفة، مطبوعة في أقبية مظلمة، لا تستند إلى أي غطاء نقدي أو اعتراف قانوني، ولا تحمل أي قيمة شرائية حقيقية، في واحدة من أخطر صور التزوير والانتهاك للاقتصاد الوطني، مجدداً تحذيره للمواطنين ورجال الأعمال من التعامل بهذه العملة المزورة التي تهدف إلى تشويه الثقة بالعملة الرسمية.
عملة الحوثي المزورة
وأكد الوزير اليمني أن العملة المزيفة تمثل جريمة اقتصادية موثقة، تضاف إلى سجل الحوثيين في العبث بالسيادة النقدية لليمن ويدفع نحو سحب العملة الصعبة من السوق، ويعمق أزمة السيولة النقدية، ويزيد من الأعباء المعيشية على المواطنين، كما يشكل انتهاكاً صارخاً للسيادة الوطنية.
The Yemeni Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, revealed today (Saturday) that his government is preparing a comprehensive legal file documenting the crime of currency forgery by the Houthis after they injected counterfeit currency in denominations of (200 and 50 riyals) into the Yemeni markets, explaining that what the government is preparing is a documented legal file that paves the way for submission to the relevant international authorities to take necessary actions against the perpetrators of this crime.
Al-Eryani warned in a post on his account on "X" about the repercussions of the Houthis injecting quantities of counterfeit currency in denominations of (200 riyals) into the markets, clarifying that it constitutes an economic crime aimed at plundering citizens' savings, undermining trust in the national currency, and directly threatening the Yemeni economy.
Al-Eryani called on Yemenis in his country to adopt a unified national stance, and to exert official and popular efforts, both domestically and internationally, to confront this crime, put an end to this economic farce, and dry up the sources of funding for the Houthis, urging the international community to include Houthi leaders and the entities and individuals involved in printing and distributing these counterfeit notes in international sanctions lists.

Al-Eryani praised the stance of the Yemeni people in Houthi-controlled areas for exposing the poor quality of this counterfeit currency, and the ease of removing what is promoted as a "security strip" with just a hand swipe, explaining that what is being circulated in the market is nothing but "colored papers" printed in a primitive manner, worth less than the ink used to print them.
Al-Eryani considered the Houthi forgery of currency as part of an organized plunder targeting citizens' savings, and the hundreds of millions of dollars being transferred by Yemeni expatriates abroad, primarily those residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, whose remittances reached about 3.2 billion dollars last year, according to data from the Saudi Central Bank, in addition to the remittances coming from the liberated provinces to Houthi-controlled areas.
He pointed out that the Houthis do not only confiscate the exchange rate differences of these remittances but also exchange them for expatriates' families inside Yemen with counterfeit notes, printed in dark basements, lacking any monetary backing or legal recognition, and carrying no real purchasing value, in one of the most dangerous forms of forgery and violation of the national economy, reiterating his warning to citizens and businessmen against dealing with this counterfeit currency that aims to distort trust in the official currency.

The Yemeni minister confirmed that the counterfeit currency represents a documented economic crime, adding to the Houthis' record of tampering with Yemen's monetary sovereignty, pushing towards the withdrawal of hard currency from the market, deepening the cash liquidity crisis, and increasing the living burdens on citizens, as it constitutes a blatant violation of national sovereignty.
