دعا الرئيس الصيني شي غين بينغ، اليوم (الخميس)، إلى تعزيز الثقة المتبادلة بين الصين والاتحاد الأوروبي، ومواجهة التحديات العالمية بشكل مشترك، مؤكداً أن علاقات الجانبين «وصلت إلى مرحلة حاسمة جديدة في التاريخ».
وخلال استقباله رئيسة المفوضية الأوروبية أورسولا فون دير لاين، ورئيس المجلس الأوروبي أنطونيو كوستا، اللذين يزوران بكين لحضور القمة الصينية الأوروبية الخامسة والعشرين، شدد «شي» على أهمية اتخاذ خيارات استراتيجية صحيحة تلبي تطلعات الشعوب، وتصمد أمام اختبار التاريخ.
وطالب بضرورة أن تعمل الصين والاتحاد الأوروبي على تعزيز التواصل والثقة وتعميق التعاون في وضع دولي أكثر تحدياً وتعقيداً، من أجل توفير المزيد من الاستقرار واليقين للعالم من خلال علاقات ثابتة وسليمة بين الصين والاتحاد الأوروبي، موضحاً أن هذا العام يصادف الذكرى الخمسين للعلاقات الدبلوماسية بين الصين والاتحاد الأوروبي، والذكرى الثمانين لإنشاء الأمم المتحدة.
من جهتها، قالت رئيس المفوضية الأوروبية أورسولا فون دير لاين إن العلاقات المستدامة يجب أن تقوم على «تبادل المنافع»، داعية إلى إعادة التوازن للعلاقات الأوروبية الصينية.
وأكدت على ضرورة إدراك المخاوف المتبادلة، والتقدم «بحلول حقيقية»، بحسب ما أوردته صحيفة «فايننشيال تايمز».
من جانبه، طالب رئيس المجلس الأوروبي، الرئيس الصيني باستخدام نفوذ بكين لإنهاء الحرب بين روسيا وأوكرانيا.
وتواكب القمة تصاعد التوترات التجارية والخلافات حول قضايا استراتيجية، أبرزها الحرب في أوكرانيا واختلال التوازن التجاري.
Chinese President Xi Jinping called today (Thursday) for strengthening mutual trust between China and the European Union and for jointly addressing global challenges, emphasizing that the relations between the two sides have "reached a new critical stage in history."
During his meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa, who are visiting Beijing to attend the 25th China-EU summit, Xi stressed the importance of making correct strategic choices that meet the aspirations of the peoples and withstand the test of history.
He urged that China and the European Union work to enhance communication and trust and deepen cooperation in an increasingly challenging and complex international environment, in order to provide more stability and certainty to the world through stable and sound relations between China and the EU, noting that this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the EU and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations.
For her part, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that sustainable relations should be based on "mutual benefits," calling for a rebalancing of European-Chinese relations.
She emphasized the need to recognize mutual concerns and to advance "real solutions," according to what was reported by the Financial Times.
For his part, the President of the European Council urged the Chinese president to use Beijing's influence to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The summit coincides with rising trade tensions and disputes over strategic issues, most notably the war in Ukraine and trade imbalances.
