أدانت الأمانة العامة لجامعة الدول العربية بأشد العبارات الغارات التي يشنها الاحتلال الإسرائيلي على سورية، بما في ذلك تلك التي طالت مقر هيئة الأركان في دمشق، ومحيط القصر الرئاسي.
واعتبرت الأمانة العامة للجامعة العربية أن هذه الغارات تُمثل اعتداء صارخاً على سيادة دولة عربية عضو في الجامعة العربية، وفي منظمة الأمم المتحدة، بما يُمثل انتهاكاً للقانون الدولي واستهانة بقواعد النظام الدولي.
وشددت الأمانة العامة على أن الهجمات الإسرائيلية تمثل «بلطجة» لا يُمكن للمجتمع الإقليمي أو الدولي القبول بها أو تمريرها، ويتعين وقفها فوراً، مضيفة أن غارات الاحتلال تستهدف زرع الفوضى في سورية مستغلةً في ذلك بعض الأحداث التي وقعت أخيراً في محافظة السويداء، وأدانتها السلطات السورية نفسها ووصفتها في بيان لها بـ«الأعمال المُشينة» وتعهدت بالتحقيق فيها وتوقيع الجزاء علي من يثبت ارتكابه أي انتهاكات أو مخالفات.
وأعربت الأمانة العامة عن كامل التضامن مع سورية إزاء تلك الهجمات الإسرائيلية، مناشدة الحكومة العمل بسرعة على نزع فتيل الفتنة، ومعالجة الاحتقانات القائمة عبر الحوار، والعمل على احتواء مكونات الشعب السوري كافة في الإطار الوطني.
ومنذ سقوط نظام بشار الأسد في ديسمبر 2024، كثّفت إسرائيل عملياتها العسكرية في سورية، وشنت مئات الغارات الجوية على أهداف عسكرية، بما في ذلك مستودعات أسلحة، قواعد جوية، ومواقع تابعة للجيش السوري، و«حزب الله».
ونفذت إسرائيل اليوم سلسلة غارات جوية استهدفت مواقع عسكرية في محافظة السويداء جنوب سورية، ومقر هيئة الأركان في دمشق، ومناطق قريبة من القصر الرئاسي، وأفادت تقارير بأن هذه الغارات أسفرت عن مقتل عدد من الجنود والمدنيين، وتسببت في أضرار مادية كبيرة.
The General Secretariat of the Arab League condemned in the strongest terms the airstrikes carried out by the Israeli occupation on Syria, including those that targeted the headquarters of the General Staff in Damascus and the vicinity of the presidential palace.
The General Secretariat of the Arab League considered these airstrikes to represent a blatant aggression against the sovereignty of an Arab state that is a member of the Arab League and the United Nations, constituting a violation of international law and a disregard for the rules of the international system.
The General Secretariat emphasized that the Israeli attacks represent "bullying" that neither the regional nor the international community can accept or overlook, and they must be stopped immediately. It added that the occupation's airstrikes aim to sow chaos in Syria, exploiting recent events that occurred in the Sweida Governorate, which were condemned by the Syrian authorities themselves, describing them in a statement as "shameful acts" and pledging to investigate and punish anyone found guilty of any violations or offenses.
The General Secretariat expressed full solidarity with Syria in light of these Israeli attacks, urging the government to work swiftly to defuse tensions and address existing grievances through dialogue, and to work on including all components of the Syrian people within the national framework.
Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in December 2024, Israel has intensified its military operations in Syria, launching hundreds of airstrikes on military targets, including weapon depots, air bases, and sites belonging to the Syrian army and "Hezbollah."
Today, Israel carried out a series of airstrikes targeting military sites in the Sweida Governorate in southern Syria, the headquarters of the General Staff in Damascus, and areas near the presidential palace. Reports indicated that these airstrikes resulted in the deaths of several soldiers and civilians and caused significant material damage.
