كشفت صحيفة «التلغراف» البريطانية، أنّ لندن منحت 24 ألف جندي أفغاني وعائلاتهم، حق اللجوء سراً في أراضيها بعد اختراق بياناتهم، وهو ما وُصف بـ «أخطر خرق للبيانات في التاريخ».
ووفق الصحيفة، فقد اعترفت وزارة الدفاع البريطانية، بأن التسريبات، التي يمكن الإبلاغ عنها، بعد رفع أمر قضائي، أدّت إلى دفع ما يصل إلى 6 مليارات جنيه إسترليني، تكلفة جلب اللاجئين الأفغان إلى بريطانيا.
وأشارت «التلغراف»، في تقريرها، إلى أنّ ذلك «يهدد بفتح ثقب أسود جديد في مالية بريطانيا».
وفي السياق نفسه، أكدت صحيفة «فايننشال تايمز» البريطانية نقل آلاف المواطنين الأفغان «المعرضين لخطر انتقام طالبان، سراً إلى المملكة المتحدة».
وأوضحت أنّ ذلك جاء بعد أن تم تسريب قاعدة بيانات بريطانية تحتوي على تفاصيلهم الشخصية عن طريق الخطأ من قبل جندي بريطاني في عام 2022.
ورجّحت أن يكلف هذا الطريق السري للهجرة إلى بريطانيا ما لا يقل عن ملياري جنيه إسترليني، لافتةً إلى أنّه تم «إخفاء ذلك عن البرلمان والجمهور البريطاني وضحايا الاختراق الأفغان لمدة عامين تقريباً بينما كان هناك أمر قضائي غير مسبوق ساري المفعول».
وحدّدت الصحيفة أنّ تسريب قاعدة البيانات جرى عن غير قصد في فبراير 2022، ولكن لم يتم اكتشاف الاختراق إلا بعد 18 شهراً، أي في أغسطس 2023.
وأشارت «فايننشال تايمز»، في تقرير، إلى أنّه «من غير المعروف ما إذا كانت طالبان قد حصلت على البيانات القاتلة المحتملة».
وذكرت أنّه في وقت لاحق من ظهر اليوم، رفع قاض في لندن أمر الحظر، مبيّنةً أنّ ذلك يُعدّ «نوعاً من أوامر حظر النشر في القانون الإنجليزي الذي يحظر الكشف حتى عن وجود هذا القيد».
The British newspaper "The Telegraph" revealed that London secretly granted asylum to 24,000 Afghan soldiers and their families after their data was breached, which has been described as "the most dangerous data breach in history."
According to the newspaper, the British Ministry of Defense admitted that the leaks, which can be reported after lifting a court order, led to costs of up to £6 billion for bringing Afghan refugees to Britain.
"The Telegraph" pointed out in its report that this "threatens to open a new black hole in Britain's finances."
In the same context, the British newspaper "Financial Times" confirmed the secret transfer of thousands of Afghan citizens "at risk of Taliban retaliation to the United Kingdom."
It explained that this came after a British soldier accidentally leaked a database containing their personal details in 2022.
It estimated that this secret route for immigration to Britain could cost at least £2 billion, noting that it was "hidden from Parliament, the British public, and the Afghan victims of the breach for nearly two years while an unprecedented court order was in effect."
The newspaper specified that the database leak occurred unintentionally in February 2022, but the breach was not discovered until 18 months later, in August 2023.
"Financial Times" noted in a report that "it is unknown whether the Taliban obtained the potentially deadly data."
It mentioned that later in the day, a judge in London lifted the gag order, stating that this is considered "a type of injunction in English law that prohibits even the disclosure of the existence of this restriction."
