Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed his intentions following the anticipated 60-day ceasefire. A report from Israeli Channel 12 yesterday (Sunday) stated that Netanyahu promised the extremist Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich that the war would resume in Gaza after the ceasefire agreement currently being negotiated in Doha.

Netanyahu told Smotrich: “After the ceasefire, we will relocate the residents in the sector to the south and impose a blockade on northern Gaza.”

The channel reported that during closed meetings, Israel's plan to separate the civilian population in Gaza from Hamas and confine them to a strip in the south of the sector was presented as a "humanitarian necessity," aimed at allowing the fighting to continue after the temporary ceasefire.

Netanyahu assured Smotrich that he would adhere to this promise, pointing to the preparations that preceded the confrontation with Iran last month as the reason for not meeting the Finance Minister's previous expectations regarding the destruction of Hamas. He told Smotrich: “I have been busy with the Iran file until now, but now I will focus on ensuring that the army complies with my instructions.”

The Finance Minister demanded guarantees from the Prime Minister that the war in Gaza would resume in full force after the ceasefire ends, according to the "Times of Israel."

Estimates suggest that the project could take several months.

For his part, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed hope for a ceasefire in Gaza within the coming week.

When asked about the ongoing efforts to reach an agreement regarding Gaza, Trump told reporters: “We hope to reach a solution to this issue within the coming week.”

Over the past few weeks, Trump has repeatedly set timelines for reaching an agreement, without achieving any tangible progress.
