Eighteen people were killed in Israeli shelling and airstrikes since dawn, including 15 who were waiting to receive food aid in the center of the Gaza Strip, according to the Civil Defense announcement in Gaza today (Thursday).
Mohammed Al-Mughayer, the director of medical supplies at the Civil Defense, stated that 18 fatalities occurred due to the fire from the Israeli occupation forces as the bombardment on the Gaza Strip continued since dawn today, with 15 of them being aid recipients near the Netzarim junction in the center of the Strip. He noted that 8 of the deceased and 60 injured were transported to Al-Awda Hospital, and 7 to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, both located in the center of the Strip.
He pointed out that these casualties were caused by the Israeli occupation targeting gatherings of citizens waiting for aid near the Netzarim junction, indicating that 3 fatalities resulted from an Israeli bombardment that targeted a residential apartment near Al-Jalaa Street in Gaza City in the northern part of the Strip.
On another front, the Israeli occupation army continues its aggression on the Balata refugee camp and the town of Jaba in the northern occupied West Bank. According to Palestinian media, the occupation army stormed the Balata refugee camp east of Nablus and spread throughout its alleys and streets.
Witnesses reported that the occupation forces converted Palestinian homes into military barracks, stormed dozens of homes, and arrested dozens of Palestinians, taking them for field interrogation. They clarified that the occupation forced about 14 families to evacuate their homes in the camp and flee to other areas.
