بدأت الأرملة البريطانية ليندا كيتشن (74 عاماً) إجراءات قضائية رسمية ضد شركة الخطوط الجوية السنغافورية، طالبة تعويضات مالية لتأمين رعاية صحية متخصصة تعالج إصابتها البالغة. وتعود الحادثة إلى مايو 2024، حين تعرضت رحلة متجهة من لندن إلى سنغافورة لاضطرابات جوية قاسية فوق ميانمار بعد 10 ساعات من التحليق.
ووفقاً لفريقها القانوني، هوت الطائرة فجأة مسافة بلغت نحو 6 آلاف قدم (1,828 متراً)، مما أسفر عن إصابة الزوج جيف (73 عاماً) بجروح قاتلة، قبل أن يضطر طاقم الطائرة لتغيير المسار والهبوط اضطرارياً في العاصمة التايلندية بانكوك.
وكان الزوجان يستعدان لقضاء إجازة ترفيهية طويلة تمتد لستة أسابيع تشمل سنغافورة وإندونيسيا وأستراليا، قبل أن تضع تلك الاضطرابات الجوية العنيفة نهاية مأساوية لرحلتهما.

British widow Linda Kitchen (74) has initiated formal legal proceedings against Singapore Airlines, seeking financial compensation to secure specialized healthcare for her severe injury. The incident dates back to May 2024, when a flight from London to Singapore encountered severe turbulence over Myanmar after 10 hours of flying.
According to her legal team, the plane suddenly dropped approximately 6,000 feet (1,828 meters), resulting in fatal injuries to her husband Jeff (73), before the flight crew was forced to change course and make an emergency landing in the Thai capital, Bangkok.
The couple was preparing for a long recreational holiday lasting six weeks, which included Singapore, Indonesia, and Australia, before those violent turbulence conditions brought a tragic end to their trip.
