أعلن عضو اللجنة التنفيذية في منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية أحمد مجدلاني أن الرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس سيبحث مع المسؤولين اللبنانيين خلال زيارته لبيروت غداً (الأربعاء) موضوع السلاح في المخيمات الفلسطينية.
وقال مجدلاني الذي سيكون ضمن الوفد المرافق لعباس في تصريحات صحفية اليوم: طبعاً السلاح الفلسطيني الموجود في المخيمات سيكون واحداً من القضايا على جدول النقاش بين الرئيس عباس والرئيس اللبناني جوزيف عون والحكومة اللبنانية.
وكانت السلطات اللبنانية قد أعلنت نيتها تطبيق القرارات الدولية التي تنص على حصر السلاح في لبنان في أيدي القوى الشرعية.
يذكر أن اتفاقاً يعود لعقود خلت، يسند للفصائل الفلسطينية مسؤولية الأمن داخل المخيمات التي يمتنع الجيش اللبناني عن دخولها، وتنتشر فيها مجموعات من «فتح» و«حماس» وأطراف أخرى.
وكان الرئيس اللبناني جوزيف عون قد قال في مقابلة صحفية سابقة إن السلطات تتحرّك لنزع السلاح الثقيل والمتوسط على كل الأراضي اللبنانية، بما فيها المخيمات الفلسطينية، ويُقدّر عدد اللاجئين الفلسطينيين المقيمين في هذه المخيمات المكتظة بنحو 250 ألفاً.
ودخل اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار في لبنان في 27 نوفمبر بين إسرائيل و«حزب الله» حيز التنفيذ في لبنان، بعد مواجهة دامية استمرت أكثر من عام على خلفية الحرب في قطاع غزة، لكن السلطات اللبنانية أبدت حزماً لبسط سيطرتها على كامل الأراضي اللبنانية ومنع كل وجود مسلح خارج القوات الشرعية.
A member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Ahmad Majdalani, announced that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will discuss with Lebanese officials during his visit to Beirut tomorrow (Wednesday) the issue of weapons in Palestinian camps.
Majdalani, who will be part of the accompanying delegation with Abbas, stated in press remarks today: "Of course, the Palestinian weapons present in the camps will be one of the issues on the discussion agenda between President Abbas and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and the Lebanese government."
The Lebanese authorities had announced their intention to implement international resolutions that stipulate restricting weapons in Lebanon to the hands of legitimate forces.
It is noteworthy that an agreement dating back decades assigns Palestinian factions the responsibility for security within the camps, which the Lebanese army refrains from entering, and where groups from "Fatah," "Hamas," and other parties are present.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun had previously stated in an interview that the authorities are moving to remove heavy and medium weapons from all Lebanese territory, including Palestinian camps, where the number of Palestinian refugees residing in these overcrowded camps is estimated at around 250,000.
The ceasefire agreement in Lebanon on November 27 between Israel and "Hezbollah" came into effect in Lebanon, following a bloody confrontation that lasted more than a year in the wake of the war in the Gaza Strip. However, the Lebanese authorities have shown determination to assert their control over all Lebanese territory and prevent any armed presence outside of legitimate forces.
