أكد وزير الخارجية السعودي الأمير فيصل بن فرحان، اليوم (السبت)، أن ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان، وجه بتقديم كل أشكال الدعم والإسناد لسورية، موضحاً إن السعودية ستدعم السوريين في بناء وطنهم.
وقال الأمير فيصل بن فرحان: «السعودية تحرص على سيادة سورية واستقلالها، وستظل في مقدمة الدول التي تقف إلى جانب سورية»، مضيفاً: «جهودنا لرفع العقوبات عن سورية هو تأكيد على أواصر الأخوّة».
ولفت الأمير فيصل إلى أن المملكة ستقدم دعماً مشتركاً مع قطر للعاملين في القطاع العام في سورية، موضحاً إن أمام السوريين فرصة لبناء وطنهم والسعودية ستقف معهم.
وثمن الأمير فيصل بن فرحان، الذي يجري زيارة رسمية إلى دمشق، رفع العقوبات عن سورية، موضحاً أن السعودية تريد رؤية سورية في موقعها ومكانتها الطبيعية.
وأوضح وزير الخارجية السعودي إن بلاده مهتمة بتعزيز الشراكة مع دمشق وترسيخ الاستقرار، موضحاً في سياق مؤتمر صحفي مع وزير الخارجية السوري أسعد الشيباني أنه استعرض مع الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع فرص تعزيز التعاون.
وأشار إلى أن بلاده مستمرة في دعم «سورية الجديدة»، مشدداً بالقول: «مساهمتنا في رفع العقوبات هي تأكيد على وقوف الأخ إلى جانب أخيه، وسنستمر في ذلك دعماً لسورية الجديدة وشعبها». ونقلت وكالة الأنباء السورية «سانا» عن الأمير فيصل بن فرحان قوله: «رفع العقوبات سيسهم في دفع عجلة الاقتصاد، وسينعكس إيجاباً على الشعب السوري وتحسين معيشته»، مضيفاً: «لدى سورية الكثير من الفرص، والشعب السوري قادر على الإبداع والإنجاز وبناء وطنه، ونحن معه في ذلك».
وأشار الأمير فيصل إلى أنه استعرض فرص تعزيز التعاون الثنائي بما يعكس التعاون الأخوي، ويتطلع لتعزيز الشراكة بين البلدين، معلناً أنّ وفوداً سعودية في مجالات الطاقة والزراعة والمعلوماتية وغيرها ستزور دمشق لاحقاً.
بدوره، أثنى وزير الخارجية السوري أسعد الشيباني على دور السعودية في دعم سورية شعباً وقيادة، مشيراً إلى أن أولوية الحكومة السورية هي إعادة بناء اقتصاد البلاد وعودة الكفاءات.
ولفت إلى أن التعاون في مجال الاستثمار مع السعودية سيوجد فرص عمل في سورية، مبيناً أنه بحث مع الأمير فيصل بن فرحان العديد من الموضوعات خصوصاً في مجالات الاقتصاد والطاقة.
وأعرب الشيباني عن شكره للمملكة؛ لدعمها سورية منذ لحظة التحرير خصوصاً في رفع العقوبات. مبيناً أن رفع العقوبات هي البداية، وبلاده اتخذت خطوات جادة لتوفير الخدمات للمواطنين، ووقعت اتفاقية منذ يومين مع شركات دولية لتأمين الغاز اللازم لتوليد الطاقة الكهربائية.
وقال الشيباني: «خيارنا في سورية السيادة الاقتصادية، وقوة شراكتنا مع السعودية تكمن في المصالح المشتركة»، مبيناً إن إعادة إعمار سورية لن تفرض من الخارج، بل من قبل الشعب السوري، ونرحب بكل مساهمة في هذا المجال.

The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, confirmed today (Saturday) that Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman has directed the provision of all forms of support and assistance to Syria, explaining that Saudi Arabia will support the Syrians in building their homeland.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan said: "Saudi Arabia is keen on Syria's sovereignty and independence, and it will remain at the forefront of countries standing by Syria," adding: "Our efforts to lift sanctions on Syria affirm the bonds of brotherhood."
Prince Faisal noted that the Kingdom will provide joint support with Qatar for public sector workers in Syria, explaining that the Syrians have an opportunity to build their homeland and that Saudi Arabia will stand with them.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan, who is on an official visit to Damascus, praised the lifting of sanctions on Syria, explaining that Saudi Arabia wants to see Syria in its rightful position and status.
The Saudi Foreign Minister clarified that his country is interested in enhancing partnership with Damascus and establishing stability, explaining in a press conference with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shabani that he discussed with Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara opportunities to enhance cooperation.
He pointed out that his country continues to support "the new Syria," emphasizing: "Our contribution to lifting sanctions is a confirmation of standing by one's brother, and we will continue to do so in support of the new Syria and its people." The Syrian news agency "SANA" quoted Prince Faisal bin Farhan as saying: "Lifting sanctions will contribute to driving the economy forward and will positively reflect on the Syrian people and improve their living conditions," adding: "Syria has many opportunities, and the Syrian people are capable of creativity and achievement in building their homeland, and we are with them in that."
Prince Faisal indicated that he reviewed opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation that reflects brotherly cooperation, looking forward to strengthening the partnership between the two countries, announcing that Saudi delegations in the fields of energy, agriculture, information technology, and others will visit Damascus later.
For his part, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shabani praised Saudi Arabia's role in supporting Syria, both the people and leadership, pointing out that the priority of the Syrian government is to rebuild the country's economy and bring back skilled professionals.
He noted that cooperation in the field of investment with Saudi Arabia will create job opportunities in Syria, indicating that he discussed with Prince Faisal bin Farhan many topics, particularly in the fields of economy and energy.
Al-Shabani expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom for its support of Syria since the moment of liberation, especially in lifting sanctions. He indicated that lifting sanctions is just the beginning, and his country has taken serious steps to provide services to citizens, having signed an agreement two days ago with international companies to secure the necessary gas for electricity generation.
Al-Shabani said: "Our choice in Syria is economic sovereignty, and the strength of our partnership with Saudi Arabia lies in our common interests," explaining that the reconstruction of Syria will not be imposed from abroad, but rather by the Syrian people, and we welcome any contribution in this regard.
