أقامت الكلية التطبيقية في محافظة العلا ممثلة في برنامج إدارة السياحة والضيافة، ملتقىً تثقيفياً توعوياً عن السياحة الزراعية باعتبارها أحد الأنماط السياحية المستحدثة، التي تمثل فرصة استثمارية مهمة لقطاع الزراعة، من خلال ابتكار نموذج مستدام لتعزيز التراث الثقافي والتنمية الاقتصادية والحفاظ على استدامة الموارد البيئية.
وسوّق الملتقى شعار (مزرعتك وجهة سياحية)، وشارك فيه مبادرون في قطاع الاستثمار الزراعي على مستوى محافظة العلا، وبعض ممثلي الشركات السياحية.
وأدار الملتقى المدير التنفيذي للكلية التطبيقية الدكتور عبدالعزيز البلوي، الذي شارك في تنفيذه أساتذة وطلاب؛ وخرج الملتقى بتوصيات عدة، منها أن السياحة الزراعية لها أثرها الفاعل في تحقيق مستهدفات رؤية المملكة في قطاع السياحة ببلوغها مستوى 150 مليون سائح في 2030، ما يعزز تجربة المُستضيف والسائح.
يُذكر أن برنامج إدارة السياحة والضيافة حصل أخيرا على اعتماد أكاديمي أوروبي من مؤسسة EURHODIP بالإضافة الى الاعتماد الداخلي.
The Applied College in the Al-Ula Governorate, represented by the Tourism and Hospitality Management Program, held an educational awareness forum on agricultural tourism as one of the emerging tourism patterns, which represents an important investment opportunity for the agriculture sector, through the innovation of a sustainable model to enhance cultural heritage, economic development, and the sustainability of environmental resources.
The forum promoted the slogan (Your Farm is a Tourist Destination), and included participants from the agricultural investment sector at the level of Al-Ula Governorate, as well as some representatives from tourism companies.
The forum was managed by the Executive Director of the Applied College, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Balwi, who was supported in its implementation by faculty members and students; the forum resulted in several recommendations, including that agricultural tourism has a significant impact on achieving the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision in the tourism sector by reaching 150 million tourists by 2030, which enhances the experience of both the host and the tourist.
It is noteworthy that the Tourism and Hospitality Management Program recently received European academic accreditation from the EURHODIP institution in addition to internal accreditation.
