كشف المتحدث باسم المركز الوطني للأرصاد حسين القحطاني أن المنظمة العالمية للأرصاد (WMO) اعتمدت رسميًا تسجيل 54 درجة مئوية كأعلى درجة حرارة في آسيا، سُجلت في مطربة – الكويت (2016)، وتربت – باكستان (2017)، كأعلى حرارة معترف بها عالميًا منذ 76 عامًا.
وأضاف القحطاني أن هذه الأرقام تعكس التطرّف المناخي المتزايد وتأثيراته على الكائنات والموارد الطبيعية.
The spokesperson for the National Center for Meteorology, Hussein Al-Qahtani, revealed that the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has officially recognized a record of 54 degrees Celsius as the highest temperature in Asia, recorded in Mitribah – Kuwait (2016) and Turbat – Pakistan (2017), as the highest temperature recognized globally in 76 years.
Al-Qahtani added that these figures reflect the increasing climate extremities and their impacts on living beings and natural resources.
