في خطوة غير مسبوقة على المستوى العربي، أعلن اتحاد الحقوقيين العرب تأسيس فريق قانوني عربي لملاحقة إسرائيل أمام القضاء الدولي، حيث حمل التأسيس انضمام المحامي السعودي الدولي كاتب الشمري، في مبادرة تمزج بين الموقف القانوني والواجب الإنساني تجاه القضية الفلسطينية.
يهدف الفريق إلى توحيد الجهود القانونية العربية لملاحقة مرتكبي جرائم الحرب في قطاع غزة، وتقديم الشكاوى والدعاوى أمام المحاكم الدولية والإقليمية والوطنية. ويضم محامين وحقوقيين ومنظمات إنسانية من مختلف الدول العربية، في خطوة توصف بأنها سابقة قضائية عربية تستند إلى القانون الدولي الإنساني والقانون الجنائي الدولي.
نصرة الشعب الفلسطيني
يقول المحامي الشمري: «نصرة الشعب الفلسطيني التزام قانوني وأخلاقي علينا جميعًا والعدالة يمكن أن تكون سلاحًا فعّالًا في مواجهة آلة القتل وسياسة الاحتلال».
والفريق يعمل على تحقيق مجموعة من الأهداف الإستراتيجية أبرزها: تجنيد الكفاءات القانونية العربية لتوثيق وتكييف الجرائم وفق القانون الدولي، جمع الأدلة والمستندات والشهادات لإثبات الانتهاكات بحق المدنيين الفلسطينيين، التنسيق مع النقابات والمنظمات الحقوقية والإعلامية والجامعية لنشر ثقافة العدالة والمساءلة، رفع الدعاوى أمام المحاكم الوطنية والدولية ضد مجرمي الحرب الصهاينة.
وتزامنت هذه الخطوة مع إعلان البرازيل انضمامها رسميًا إلى الدعوى التي رفعتها جنوب أفريقيا ضد إسرائيل أمام محكمة العدل الدولية بتهمة الإبادة الجماعية، ما يعزز الزخم الدولي نحو تجريم الاحتلال ومساءلة قادته أمام العدالة العالمية.
In an unprecedented step at the Arab level, the Arab Lawyers Union announced the establishment of an Arab legal team to pursue Israel before international courts. This establishment includes the joining of international Saudi lawyer Kattab Al-Shammari, in an initiative that blends legal stance with humanitarian duty towards the Palestinian cause.
The team aims to unify Arab legal efforts to pursue those responsible for war crimes in the Gaza Strip, and to file complaints and lawsuits before international, regional, and national courts. It includes lawyers, human rights advocates, and humanitarian organizations from various Arab countries, in a move described as an Arab judicial precedent based on international humanitarian law and international criminal law.
Supporting the Palestinian People
Lawyer Al-Shammari states: “Supporting the Palestinian people is a legal and moral obligation for all of us, and justice can be an effective weapon in confronting the killing machine and the policies of occupation.”
The team is working to achieve a set of strategic goals, the most prominent of which are: recruiting Arab legal competencies to document and classify crimes according to international law, gathering evidence, documents, and testimonies to prove violations against Palestinian civilians, coordinating with unions, human rights organizations, and media and academic institutions to promote a culture of justice and accountability, and filing lawsuits before national and international courts against Zionist war criminals.
This step coincided with Brazil's announcement of its official joining of the lawsuit filed by South Africa against Israel before the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide, which enhances international momentum towards criminalizing the occupation and holding its leaders accountable before global justice.
