رعى أمير المنطقة الشرقية الأمير سعود بن نايف بن عبدالعزيز، في مكتبه بديوان الإمارة اليوم (الإثنين)، انطلاق فعاليات النسخة الثانية من موسم التشجير الوطني في المنطقة، ضمن جهود البرنامج الوطني للتشجير، تحت شعار «يدٌ تغرس وأرضٌ تزدهر»، التي تهدف إلى تعزيز الاستدامة البيئية وتشجيع مشاركة المجتمع في مبادرات التشجير، بما ينسجم مع مستهدفات رؤية السعودية 2030.
وأكد أمير المنطقة الشرقية حرص القيادة على الحفاظ على البيئة وتحسين جودة الحياة من خلال دعم مشاريع التشجير ومكافحة التصحر، انطلاقاً من رؤية طموحة تهدف إلى تحقيق التنمية المستدامة وحماية الموارد الطبيعية، مشيراً إلى أن العمل البيئي يُعد مسؤولية وطنية مشتركة تتطلب تضافر الجهود بين مختلف الجهات والمؤسسات وأفراد المجتمع لبناء مستقبلٍ أخضر يوازن بين النمو الاقتصادي والاستدامة البيئية.
وقدم مدير عام فرع المركز الوطني لتنمية الغطاء النباتي ومكافحة التصحر بالمنطقة الشرقية المهندس يوسف البدر عرضاً حول موسم التشجير الوطني في نسخته الثانية، الذي تشارك فيه العديد من الجهات، ويأتي امتداداً للجهود الوطنية الرامية إلى تحقيق مستهدفات مبادرة السعودية الخضراء، من خلال تنمية الغطاء النباتي، والحد من تدهور الأراضي، وتشجيع زراعة النباتات المحلية الملائمة، إضافةً إلى رفع الوعي بالممارسات البيئية السليمة، وتعزيز ثقافة التطوع، وتجسيد التكامل بين مختلف القطاعات العامة والخاصة وغير الربحية.
وأضاف البدر أنه تزامناً مع انطلاق الموسم، أطلق البرنامج الوطني للتشجير الهوية الرسمية لموسم التشجير الوطني 2025، التي تحمل مضامين تعزز ثقافة التشجير وتؤكد أن التشجير ليس مجرد حملة بيئية، بل التزام وطني يعكس وعي المجتمع ومسؤوليته تجاه الأجيال القادمة.
ورفع المهندس البدر شكره لأمير المنطقة الشرقية على تدشينه الموسم ودعمه الدائم لكل ما يسهم في المحافظة على البيئة وتعزيز الاستدامة.
The Prince of the Eastern Province, Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, sponsored the launch of the second edition of the National Afforestation Season in the region today (Monday) at his office in the Emirate's Diwan. This event is part of the national afforestation program, under the slogan "A Hand that Plants and a Land that Thrives," which aims to enhance environmental sustainability and encourage community participation in afforestation initiatives, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Prince of the Eastern Province emphasized the leadership's commitment to preserving the environment and improving the quality of life by supporting afforestation projects and combating desertification, stemming from an ambitious vision aimed at achieving sustainable development and protecting natural resources. He pointed out that environmental work is a shared national responsibility that requires concerted efforts among various entities, institutions, and community members to build a green future that balances economic growth with environmental sustainability.
The Director General of the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification in the Eastern Province, Engineer Youssef Al-Badr, presented a briefing on the National Afforestation Season in its second edition, which involves many entities and extends the national efforts aimed at achieving the targets of the Saudi Green Initiative by developing vegetation cover, reducing land degradation, encouraging the planting of suitable local plants, raising awareness of sound environmental practices, enhancing a culture of volunteering, and embodying integration among various public, private, and non-profit sectors.
Al-Badr added that coinciding with the launch of the season, the national afforestation program unveiled the official identity for the National Afforestation Season 2025, which carries themes that promote a culture of afforestation and affirm that afforestation is not just an environmental campaign, but a national commitment that reflects the community's awareness and responsibility towards future generations.
Engineer Al-Badr expressed his gratitude to the Prince of the Eastern Province for inaugurating the season and for his ongoing support for all efforts that contribute to preserving the environment and enhancing sustainability.
