أكدت الهيئة العامة لتنظيم الإعلام أنها شرعت في اتخاذ الإجراءات النظامية بحق عدد من المخالفين بعد رصدها نشراً وإعادة نشر لمحتوى طائفي ومسيء لدولة شقيقة، في مخالفة صريحة لأحكام نظام الإعلام المرئي والمسموع.
وأوضحت الهيئة أن تلك المواد الإعلامية تمثل تجاوزاً واضحاً لما نصّت عليه الفقرة السابعة من المادة الخامسة من النظام، التي تنص على «عدم التعرض إلى ما من شأنه الإساءة إلى الدول العربية أو الإسلامية أو الصديقة».
وشددت هيئة تنظيم الإعلام على أن هذه الضوابط تأتي في إطار احترام الثوابت الوطنية والعلاقات الأخوية والدولية للمملكة.

The General Authority for Media Regulation confirmed that it has begun taking legal actions against a number of violators after monitoring the publication and republishing of sectarian content that is offensive to a sisterly country, in clear violation of the provisions of the audiovisual media system.
The authority clarified that these media materials represent a clear transgression of what is stipulated in paragraph seven of article five of the system, which states, "Not to engage in anything that may offend Arab or Islamic or friendly countries."
The Media Regulation Authority emphasized that these controls come within the framework of respecting national constants and the brotherly and international relations of the Kingdom.
