أكدت المملكة العربية السعودية ثوابتها ومواقفها الإنسانية الراسخة تجاه قضايا اللاجئين والاستجابة الإنسانية الدولية.
جاء ذلك في بيان للمملكة ألقاه المندوب الدائم للمملكة لدى الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات الدولية في جنيف السفير عبدالمحسن بن خثيلة، خلال اجتماع اللجنة التنفيذية (76) لمفوضية شؤون اللاجئين. وأوضح السفير بن خثيلة أن المملكة تواصل التزامها الراسخ بمبادئ الحماية الدولية وتقاسم الأعباء، مشيرا إلى أن المملكة استمرت بإسهاماتها السخية رغم التحديات الاقتصادية العالمية، ما يعكس حرصها المستمر على دعم الجهود الإنسانية الدولية. وأشار إلى أن المملكة تولي أهمية كبرى للنهج الترابطي بين العمل الإنساني والتنموي، انطلاقا من إيمانها بأن الحلول المستدامة تتطلب إلى جانب الاستجابة الإنسانية، جهودا تنموية تُعالج الأسباب الجذرية للنزوح. كما تطرق إلى أن المملكة تتبنى في سياستها الخارجية نهجا متكاملا يجمع بين معالجة أسباب النزوح من خلال الوساطة وحل النزاعات وبين تقديم المساعدات الإنسانية والتنموية لتعزيز الصمود، مشددا على ضرورة إشراك الدول المستضيفة للاجئين بشكل فعّال في عمليات صنع القرار وصياغة السياسات، ولا سيما تلك المتعلقة بالتمويل الإنساني، لضمان استجابة أكثر عدلا وفعالية.وفي سياق متصل، دعا السفير عبدالمحسن بن خثيلة إلى تكثيف الجهود للاستجابة للاحتياجات الإنسانية في السودان والتخفيف من معاناة المدنيين، كما جدّد التأكيد لالتزام المملكة بدعم الجهود الدولية الرامية إلى إنهاء الحرب على غزة فورا، والتوصل إلى اتفاق شامل يضمن إيصال المساعدات الإنسانية دون قيود، ويحُول دون تهجير الشعب الفلسطيني.واختتم المندوب الدائم للمملكة لدى الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات الدولية البيان، بالتأكيد لاستمرار المملكة في دعم سورية لمواجهة التحديات الاقتصادية والتنموية ودعم جهود العودة الآمنة والطوعية للاجئين السوريين.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its steadfast principles and humanitarian positions regarding refugee issues and international humanitarian response.
This was stated in a statement delivered by the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Abdul Mohsen bin Khutaila, during the Executive Committee (76) meeting of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Ambassador bin Khutaila explained that the Kingdom continues its firm commitment to the principles of international protection and burden-sharing, noting that the Kingdom has continued its generous contributions despite global economic challenges, reflecting its ongoing commitment to supporting international humanitarian efforts. He pointed out that the Kingdom places great importance on the interconnected approach between humanitarian and developmental work, based on its belief that sustainable solutions require, alongside humanitarian response, developmental efforts that address the root causes of displacement. He also mentioned that the Kingdom adopts a comprehensive approach in its foreign policy that combines addressing the causes of displacement through mediation and conflict resolution with providing humanitarian and developmental assistance to enhance resilience, emphasizing the necessity of effectively involving host countries in decision-making processes and policy formulation, particularly those related to humanitarian funding, to ensure a more equitable and effective response. In this context, Ambassador Abdul Mohsen bin Khutaila called for intensifying efforts to respond to humanitarian needs in Sudan and alleviate the suffering of civilians. He also reiterated the Kingdom's commitment to supporting international efforts aimed at ending the war in Gaza immediately and reaching a comprehensive agreement that ensures the delivery of humanitarian aid without restrictions and prevents the displacement of the Palestinian people. The Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organizations concluded the statement by affirming the Kingdom's continued support for Syria in facing economic and developmental challenges and supporting the safe and voluntary return of Syrian refugees.
