انطلقت في العاصمة النيجيرية أبوجا، أعمال «ملتقى خريجي الجامعات السعودية في جمهورية نيجيريا الاتحادية والدول المحيطة بها»، والمعرض المصاحب الذي تشرف عليه وزارة التعليم، وتنظمه جامعة الملك خالد، بالتعاون مع جامعة تبوك وجامعة نجران، بحضور وزيرة الدولة للتعليم بجمهورية نيجيريا الاتحادية الدكتورة سويبا سعيدو أحمد، والقائم بأعمال سفارة المملكة في أبوجا سعد بن فهد المري.
وأعربت وزيرة الدولة للتعليم في نيجيريا عن تقديرها وامتنانها لحكومة المملكة العربية السعودية، على دعمها المتواصل للطلبة الدوليين من خلال برامج المنح الدراسية؛ التي تتيح فرص التعلم والتبادل المعرفي في الجامعات السعودية، مشيدةً بما تقدمه المملكة من جهود مميزة في خدمة التعليم على المستويين الإقليمي والدولي.
كما قدّمت شكرها للقائمين على الملتقى والجهات المنظمة على ما بذلوه من جهود لإنجاح فعالياته، مؤكدةً أن هذه المبادرات تسهم في تعزيز التعاون الأكاديمي والبحثي بين البلدين، وتفتح آفاقا أوسع للتبادل العلمي والمعرفي المشترك.
من جهته، أكّد المري أن ما يشهده التعليم في المملكة من تطور نوعي يعكس حرص القيادة على بناء منظومة تعليمية رائدة عالميا، قادرة على مواكبة التطورات العلمية والتقنية، وتعزيز مكانة المملكة في المحافل الأكاديمية الدولية، منوها بأهمية تفعيل دور منصة «ادرس في السعودية» في تعزيز استقطاب الطلبة الدوليين، وتمكين الجامعات السعودية من أداء رسالتها العلمية في نشر المعرفة والتعليم، وبناء جسور التعاون الأكاديمي والثقافي مع مختلف دول العالم.
وأشار إلى أن وزارة التعليم تعمل على إعداد وتأهيل الكفاءات العلمية القادرة على الإسهام في مسيرة التنمية في بلدانهم بعد عودتهم، ونقل ما اكتسبوه من مهارات وخبرات خلال دراستهم في المملكة في شتى المجالات العلمية والبحثية.
ويشهد الملتقى عقد ست جلسات علمية على مدار ثلاثة أيام، بمشاركة 21 متحدثا في مجالات التعليم والبحث العلمي، إضافة إلى أكثر من 400 مشارك من خريجي الجامعات السعودية من جمهورية نيجيريا الاتحادية والدول المجاورة لها.

The "Forum of Saudi University Graduates in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Surrounding Countries" has commenced in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, along with the accompanying exhibition overseen by the Ministry of Education and organized by King Khalid University in collaboration with Tabuk University and Najran University, with the presence of the Minister of State for Education in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Suwaiba Saidu Ahmed, and the Chargé d'Affaires of the Kingdom's Embassy in Abuja, Saad bin Fahd Al-Mari.
The Minister of State for Education in Nigeria expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continuous support for international students through scholarship programs that provide opportunities for learning and knowledge exchange in Saudi universities, praising the distinguished efforts made by the Kingdom in serving education at both regional and international levels.
She also extended her thanks to those responsible for the forum and the organizing bodies for their efforts in making the events successful, emphasizing that these initiatives contribute to enhancing academic and research cooperation between the two countries and open wider horizons for mutual scientific and knowledge exchange.
For his part, Al-Mari affirmed that the qualitative development witnessed in education in the Kingdom reflects the leadership's commitment to building a globally leading educational system capable of keeping pace with scientific and technological developments and enhancing the Kingdom's position in international academic forums, highlighting the importance of activating the role of the "Study in Saudi Arabia" platform in attracting international students and enabling Saudi universities to fulfill their scientific mission in disseminating knowledge and education, and building bridges of academic and cultural cooperation with various countries around the world.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Education is working on preparing and qualifying scientific competencies capable of contributing to the development journey in their countries upon their return, and transferring the skills and experiences they have gained during their studies in the Kingdom in various scientific and research fields.
The forum will feature six scientific sessions over three days, with the participation of 21 speakers in the fields of education and scientific research, in addition to more than 400 participants from Saudi university graduates from the Federal Republic of Nigeria and its neighboring countries.
