Captain Mohamed Mokhtar, head of the police investigations department, received a report about the incident and a team was formed to gather information. Investigations confirmed that the young man made the decision to self-immolate immediately after his mother's refusal, in an incident that shocked his neighbors.
The statements of the injured man's mother were taken, who confirmed the accuracy of the incident, and a report was filed for the relevant prosecution to begin its investigation.
