أعلن البنك السعودي الأول، أحد البنوك الرائدة في المملكة، حصوله على الآيزو 20400 للمشتريات المستدامة، ليصبح بذلك أول بنك في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا، والجهة الثانية والأربعين على مستوى العالم، تحصل على هذا الاعتراف الدولي من المعهد البريطاني للمعايير. ويغطي هذا الإنجاز جميع المراحل بدءاً من الرؤية الإستراتيجية وصولاً إلى التنفيذ التشغيلي. ويُبرز هذا الإنجاز التزام الأول بالاستدامة وتوافقه مع المعايير الدولية في دمج الممارسات المستدامة ضمن ممارسات المشتريات.
وتُعد الآيزو 20400 التي طورتها «المنظمة الدولية للمعايير» (ISO)، إطاراً معترفاً به عالمياً لدمج الاستدامة في عمليات المشتريات. وتركز توجيهاتها على الحوكمة وممارسات الأعمال وحقوق الإنسان والأثر البيئي والسلوك المهني للأعمال على مستوى سلسلة التوريد.
وقد تم إجراء عملية التقييم بالتعاون مع «المعهد البريطاني للمعايير» الشركة المتخصصة في تحسين الأعمال والمعايير، وأحد الأعضاء المؤسسين في «المنظمة الدولية للمعايير»، وشمل التقييم إجراء مراجعة شاملة لأطر العمل والإستراتيجيات وآليات التنفيذ المعتمدة في إدارة المشتريات لدى البنك، بهدف قياس مدى تكامل مبادئ الاستدامة ضمن هذه العمليات.
وبناء على نتائج عملية التقييم، عزز «الأول» تكامله في دمج الاستدامة ضمن عمليات اتخاذ القرار الخاصة بالمشتريات. كما طور ممارسات التواصل مع المورّدين وتبني أساليب أكثر فاعلية في مجال المشتريات التوريد الأخلاقي، بما يتماشى مع أهداف البنك في الممارسات البيئية والاجتماعية والحوكمة المؤسسية. وتأتي هذه الخطوة دعماً لإستراتيجية البنك طويلة المدى في تعزيز الممارسات المسؤولة وإدارة سلسلة التوريد بشفافية.
وبهذه المناسبة، علقت الرئيس التنفيذي للعمليات لدى الأول غادة الجربوع: «يمثل حصولنا على شهادة الآيزو 20400 خطوة مهمة نحو ترسيخ الاستدامة ضمن عمليات المشتريات في البنك. ويؤكد هذا الإنجاز التزامنا بالشراء المسؤول، ويعزز من قدرتنا على إشراك الموردين بما يتماشى مع أولويات البنك في مجالات الاستدامة ورؤية السعودية 2030». من جهته، قال مدير المبيعات والأعمال التجارية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وتركيا وأفريقيا في المعهد البريطاني للمعايير إلياس كارامبوكيس: «هناك فرصة كبيرة أمام البنوك والمؤسسات المالية الأخرى للتأثير في مجال الاستدامة من خلال ممارساتها في مجال الإقراض والاستثمار والحوكمة. ومن الرائع أن نرى البنك السعودي الأول يقود الطريق بحصوله على شهادة الآيزو 20400 للمشتريات المستدامة، الأمر الذي يثبت أن البنك يتخذ قرارات واعية فيما يتعلق بتأثيره البيئي والاجتماعي والاقتصادي، والمساهمة في تسريع جهود التقدم نحو عالم أكثر استدامة. ونبارك لفريق الأول على هذا الإنجاز».
The Saudi First Bank, one of the leading banks in the Kingdom, announced that it has obtained the ISO 20400 certification for sustainable procurement, thus becoming the first bank in the Middle East and Africa, and the forty-second organization worldwide, to receive this international recognition from the British Standards Institute. This achievement covers all stages from strategic vision to operational implementation. It highlights First's commitment to sustainability and its alignment with international standards in integrating sustainable practices into procurement practices.
ISO 20400, developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), is a globally recognized framework for integrating sustainability into procurement processes. Its guidelines focus on governance, business practices, human rights, environmental impact, and professional conduct in the supply chain.
The assessment process was conducted in collaboration with the British Standards Institute, a company specialized in business improvement and standards, and one of the founding members of the International Organization for Standardization. The evaluation included a comprehensive review of the frameworks, strategies, and implementation mechanisms adopted in the bank's procurement management, aimed at measuring the extent to which sustainability principles are integrated into these processes.
Based on the results of the assessment, First enhanced its integration of sustainability into its procurement decision-making processes. It also developed practices for communication with suppliers and adopted more effective methods in ethical sourcing procurement, in line with the bank's goals in environmental, social, and corporate governance practices. This step supports the bank's long-term strategy to promote responsible practices and manage the supply chain transparently.
On this occasion, the Chief Operating Officer of First, Ghada Al-Jarbooa, commented: “Our obtaining the ISO 20400 certification represents an important step towards embedding sustainability into the bank's procurement processes.
