أعلن المشرف العام على مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة والأعمال الإنسانية رئيس الفريق الطبي والجراحي التابع للبرنامج السعودي للتوائم الملتصقة الدكتور عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز الربيعة، نجاح عملية فصل التوأم السعودي الملتصق «يارا ولارا» التي بدأت صباح اليوم، في مستشفى الملك عبدالله التخصصي للأطفال بمدينة الملك عبدالعزيز الطبية بوزارة الحرس الوطني في مدينة الرياض.
ورفع الربيعة في تصريح صحفي باسمه ونيابةً عن أعضاء الفريق الشكر والعرفان لخادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، ولولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، على ما يوليانه من رعاية واهتمام ودعم لا محدود للبرنامج السعودي للتوائم الملتصقة، مؤكداً أن هذا الدعم الكريم مكّن الفريق الطبي السعودي من تقديم أعلى معايير الرعاية الطبية المتخصصة، وأسهم في تحسين جودة الحياة للأطفال المستفيدين وأسرهم، ورسخ مكانة المملكة في العمل الإنساني والطبي.
كما شكر الدكتور الربيعة زملاءه أعضاء الفريق الطبي وما يبذلونه من عمل احترافي وإنساني يُجسّد القيم النبيلة للمملكة وشعبها في خدمة الإنسان أينما كان.
وأوضح أن التوأم السعودي الملتصق «يارا ولارا» ولدتا في (5 / 11 / 2024م) ووصل وزنهما مجتمعين (10) كجم، ولكل منهما أطراف علوية وسفلية مستقلة، كما أن الفريق الطبي أجرى فحوصات دقيقة وعقد عدة اجتماعات وقرر إمكانية فصلهما.
وبيّن أن التوأم تشتركان في منطقة أسفل البطن والحوض وفي أسفل القولون والمستقيم، وهناك اشتراك وتداخل آخر في الجهاز البولي والتناسلي وعظمة الحوض، مشيراً إلى أن العملية أُجريت على (9) مراحل شارك فيها (38) عضواً من الاستشاريين والمتخصصين في التخدير وجراحة الأطفال والمسالك البولية للأطفال والتجميل والعظام والكوادر التمريضية والفنية.
ولفت إلى أن البرنامج السعودي للتوائم الملتصقة، قام بتقييم (150) حالة من (27) دولة خلال (35) عاماً، وتمكن البرنامج من فصل (64) حالة بنجاح -ولله الحمد، إذ تعد هذه الحالة رقم (65)، فيما كان عدد التوائم السعوديين الملتصقين الذين تم تقييمهم (45) توأماً، وتمثل هذه العملية رقم (16) للتوائم السعوديين الذين تم فصلهم بتوفيق الله.
وأبان أن البرنامج يواصل تطوير برامجه العلاجية والبحثية، وتحديثها وفق أحدث ما توصل إليه العلم، إلى جانب نقل الخبرات والمعارف المتراكمة إلى الكوادر الطبية داخل المملكة وخارجها، بما يضمن استدامة الأثر وتوسيع دائرة المستفيدين.
وأكد أن النجاحات المتواصلة التي يحققها البرنامج تعكس التميز السعودي في هذا المجال الدقيق، وتعزز مكانة المملكة كمركز عالمي للريادة الطبية في فصل التوائم الملتصقة وغيرها من التخصصات الحيوية.
وسأل الدكتور الربيعة في ختام تصريحه، المولى عز وجل، أن يحفظ القيادة ويبارك في جهودها، مشيداً بتفاني زملائه أعضاء الفريق وما يبذلونه من عمل احترافي وإنساني يُجسّد القيم النبيلة للمملكة وشعبها في خدمة الإنسان أينما كان.
The General Supervisor of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, Head of the Medical and Surgical Team of the Saudi Program for Conjoined Twins, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, announced the successful separation of the Saudi conjoined twins "Yara and Lara," which began this morning at King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital in King Abdulaziz Medical City of the Ministry of National Guard in Riyadh.
In a press statement, Al-Rabeeah expressed his gratitude on behalf of himself and the team members to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, for their care, attention, and unlimited support for the Saudi Program for Conjoined Twins. He affirmed that this generous support has enabled the Saudi medical team to provide the highest standards of specialized medical care, contributed to improving the quality of life for the benefiting children and their families, and solidified the Kingdom's position in humanitarian and medical work.
Dr. Al-Rabeeah also thanked his colleagues on the medical team for their professional and humanitarian efforts that embody the noble values of the Kingdom and its people in serving humanity wherever it may be.
He explained that the Saudi conjoined twins "Yara and Lara" were born on (5/11/2024) with a combined weight of (10) kg, and each has independent upper and lower limbs. The medical team conducted thorough examinations, held several meetings, and decided on the feasibility of their separation.
He indicated that the twins share a connection in the lower abdomen and pelvis, as well as in the lower colon and rectum, and there is also another connection and overlap in the urinary and reproductive systems and the pelvic bone. He noted that the operation was performed in (9) stages involving (38) members of consultants and specialists in anesthesia, pediatric surgery, pediatric urology, plastic surgery, orthopedics, as well as nursing and technical staff.
He pointed out that the Saudi Program for Conjoined Twins has evaluated (150) cases from (27) countries over (35) years and has successfully separated (64) cases, praise be to God. This case is number (65), while the number of evaluated Saudi conjoined twins was (45) pairs, making this operation number (16) for Saudi twins who have been separated, with God's blessing.
He stated that the program continues to develop its therapeutic and research programs, updating them according to the latest scientific advancements, in addition to transferring accumulated knowledge and expertise to medical staff both within and outside the Kingdom, ensuring the sustainability of impact and expanding the circle of beneficiaries.
He affirmed that the continuous successes achieved by the program reflect Saudi excellence in this precise field and enhance the Kingdom's position as a global center for medical leadership in the separation of conjoined twins and other vital specialties.
In conclusion, Dr. Al-Rabeeah prayed to Almighty God to protect the leadership and bless their efforts, praising the dedication of his fellow team members and their professional and humanitarian work that embodies the noble values of the Kingdom and its people in serving humanity wherever it may be.
