The Ministry of Health announced the suspension of the licenses of two doctors after a promotional video was detected in which they exploited their professional status and their familial relationship to gain public trust and promote an exosome product as a safe procedure.
The ministry clarified that the video presented one of the doctors receiving an injection from his brother as evidence of the product's quality and safety, using the community's trust in health practitioners and their family relationship as a substitute for scientific evidence and regulatory approval.
It emphasized that the safety and quality of health products are not established through individual experiences or personal trust, but through scientific studies, quality and manufacturing requirements, and the classification and approval of the product for specific use by the relevant authorities.
It indicated that the product used is designated according to the instructions written on its packaging for external use only, and that using it via injection contradicts its specified method of use, and allowing it to be used externally does not permit its injection or the promotion of its safety in this manner.
The violations included exploiting professional status for marketing, spreading unproven claims regarding quality and safety, using the product contrary to its instructions, and publishing commercial medical content that could mislead beneficiaries.
The ministry pointed out that these practices contradict the provisions of the Health Professions Practice System, which prohibits the use of scientifically unrecognized treatment methods, requires health practitioners to avoid sensational commercial advertising not based on scientific foundations, and mandates adherence to accuracy and professional responsibility in what they publish.
It confirmed that the suspension decisions are made to protect the safety of beneficiaries until the regulatory procedures are completed, stressing that professional status is a responsibility that should not be used to influence public decisions or market products and procedures without reliable scientific and regulatory evidence, and the ministry urged reporting any violations of health practices through the contact center "937".
