التقى وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان بن عبدالله، في العاصمة الأمريكية واشنطن، وزير خارجية الولايات المتحدة ماركو روبيو، وبحث الجانبان العلاقات الاستراتيجية بين المملكة العربية السعودية والولايات المتحدة، وسبل تعزيزها وتطويرها في مختلف المجالات.
وتناول اللقاء عددًا من الملفات الإقليمية والدولية، وفي مقدمتها التطورات الأمنية والسياسية في المنطقة، إلى جانب مستجدات الأوضاع في اليمن والجهود المبذولة للتعامل معها.
كما ناقش الجانبان أهمية حماية أمن الملاحة وحرية العبور في الممرات المائية الدولية، لا سيما مضيقي هرمز وباب المندب، بما يدعم استقرار المنطقة ويحافظ على انسيابية حركة التجارة وسلاسل الإمداد العالمية.
وأكد اللقاء أهمية استمرار التنسيق والتشاور بين المملكة والولايات المتحدة بشأن القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك، ودعم الجهود الدبلوماسية الرامية إلى معالجة الأزمات الإقليمية، وتعزيز الأمن والسلام والاستقرار.
حضر اللقاء سفيرة خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية الأميرة ريما بنت بندر بن سلطان بن عبدالعزيز، ومستشار وزير الخارجية للشأن اللبناني الأمير يزيد بن محمد الفرحان، ومستشار وزير الخارجية للشؤون السياسية الأمير مصعب بن محمد الفرحان، والمستشار المبعوث الخاص لوزير الخارجية للمفاوضات وجهود السلام منال رضوان.
Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met in the American capital, Washington, with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the two sides discussed the strategic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States, as well as ways to enhance and develop them in various fields.
The meeting addressed several regional and international issues, foremost among them the security and political developments in the region, along with the latest updates on the situation in Yemen and the efforts being made to address it.
The two sides also discussed the importance of protecting navigation security and freedom of passage in international waterways, particularly the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb, which supports regional stability and maintains the smooth flow of trade and global supply chains.
The meeting emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation between the Kingdom and the United States on issues of mutual interest, supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing regional crises, and enhancing security, peace, and stability.
Attending the meeting were the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United States, Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Foreign Affairs' Advisor for Lebanese Affairs, Prince Yazid bin Muhammad Al Farhan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs' Advisor for Political Affairs, Prince Musab bin Muhammad Al Farhan, and the Special Envoy Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Negotiations and Peace Efforts, Manal Radwan.
