The Saudi Media Academy, affiliated with the Ministry of Media, concluded this evening in Fontainebleau, France, the second edition of the "Media Leaders" program, which aims to empower national media leaders to drive institutional transformation, enhance their capabilities in influence and innovation, and identify strategic priorities, contributing to their readiness to keep pace with sector changes and shape the future of media.
Over the course of two weeks, 40 leaders from the public and private sectors participated in two intensive international training programs, totaling 48 training hours, which combined academic and practical aspects through lectures and interactive workshops presented by 9 international experts, along with 4 field visits to prominent British and French media institutions.
The training program consisted of two phases, with the first phase taking place in the British capital, London, through the program "Strategic Leadership and Institutional Transformation in Media," in collaboration with the London Business School (LBS), ranked first globally in executive education programs. The second and final phase was held in Fontainebleau, France, through the program "Advanced Leadership for Influence and Innovation in Media," in collaboration with INSEAD, ranked first in Europe in the (Financial Times European Business Schools) ranking.
The programs covered a range of topics, including institutional transformation, influence and innovation in media, leadership effectiveness in facing challenges and situations, decision-making amid changes, leveraging artificial intelligence in communication and media, enhancing media presence with the media and public opinion, as well as identifying strategic priorities for the media sector and developing capabilities to keep pace with the rapid transformations occurring in the sector.
The programs included field visits to several international media institutions. In London, participants learned about the experiences of "The Times" and "The Sunday Times" in digital transformation, developing media business models, growth strategies, and the sustainability of media institutions. In Paris, they visited the media groups "France Télévisions" and "M6," where they explored the media work system, leadership strategies, and institutional transformation, learned about their experiences in developing business models and keeping up with technological and digital transformations, and exchanged insights with executive leaders on innovation, influence strategies, and the future of the media industry.
At the conclusion of the second phase of the training program, the program director at INSEAD, Jens Meyer, awarded participants certificates of completion for the "Advanced Leadership for Influence and Innovation in Media" program.
