كشفت أجهزة الأمن في مدينة أحمد آباد الهندية تفاصيل صادمة بشأن مقتل الشابة صوفيا فاروق، البالغة من العمر 22 عامًا، بعدما بدأت القضية باعتبارها حادث سير وفرار، قبل أن تكشف التحقيقات أنها جريمة قتل مبيتة نفذها والدها وشقيقها بداعي ما وصفاه بـ«الشرف».
وبحسب ما أورده موقع «غلف نيوز»، وقعت الجريمة في 12 أغسطس الماضي، عندما أقدم والدها محمد فاروق نواب خان، البالغ من العمر 56 عامًا، وشقيقها هابيل فاروق، 38 عامًا، على ضربها على رأسها باستخدام مطرقة، ما أدى إلى وفاتها على الفور.
وجاءت الجريمة على خلفية انتشار مقطع فيديو لصوفيا برفقة شاب آخر عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي قبل نحو أربعة أشهر، الأمر الذي أثار غضب أفراد أسرتها ودفعهم إلى القلق بشأن سمعة العائلة.
وبعد تنفيذ الجريمة، حاول الشقيق إخفاء معالمها وتضليل الشرطة، إذ حمل جثمان صوفيا ونقله إلى أحد الطرق العامة، مدعيًا أنها تعرضت للدهس من جانب سيارة مسرعة، وأن قائدها فر من المكان.
واستمر المتهمان في إخفاء حقيقة ما حدث لنحو شهر، قبل أن تثير تناقضات في أقوال الشقيق شكوك المحققين، إلى جانب عدم تطابق الأدلة التي جرى العثور عليها في موقع الحادث المزعوم مع طبيعة الإصابات التي تعرضت لها الضحية.
ومع تكثيف التحريات والاستجوابات، انهارت رواية الحادث، واعترف الأب والشقيق بتدبير الجريمة وتلفيق حادث السير بهدف تضليل جهات التحقيق والإفلات من العقاب.
وألقت السلطات الأمنية القبض على المتهمين، كما سُجلت رسميًا بحقهما قضية قتل عمد، تمهيدًا لاستكمال الإجراءات القضائية.
The security forces in the Indian city of Ahmedabad revealed shocking details regarding the murder of 22-year-old Sofia Farooq, after the case initially began as a hit-and-run incident, before investigations uncovered it as a premeditated murder carried out by her father and brother under the pretext of what they described as "honor."
According to what was reported by "Gulf News", the crime occurred on August 12, when her father, Mohammad Farooq Nawab Khan, 56, and her brother, Habil Farooq, 38, struck her on the head with a hammer, resulting in her immediate death.
The crime was motivated by the circulation of a video of Sofia with another young man on social media platforms about four months prior, which angered her family members and raised concerns about the family's reputation.
After committing the crime, the brother attempted to conceal its details and mislead the police, as he carried Sofia's body and placed it on a public road, claiming that she had been run over by a speeding car, and that its driver had fled the scene.
The two suspects continued to hide the truth of what happened for nearly a month, before contradictions in the brother's statements raised the investigators' suspicions, along with the mismatch of evidence found at the alleged accident site with the nature of the injuries sustained by the victim.
With the intensification of investigations and interrogations, the accident story collapsed, and both the father and brother confessed to orchestrating the crime and fabricating the hit-and-run incident to mislead the investigative authorities and evade punishment.
The security authorities arrested the suspects, and a formal case of premeditated murder was registered against them, in preparation for completing the judicial procedures.
