أكدت السعودية وجمهورية باكستان الإسلامية على متانة العلاقات التاريخية الممتدة بين البلدين، وأشادا بمستوى التكامل في تحقيق أولويات الأمن الغذائي عبر تعزيز المقومات التصديرية لقطاع الزراعة والأغذية، وأعربا عن تطلعهما المشترك لرفع مستوى الصادرات الزراعية والغذائية الباكستانية إلى المملكة إلى 3 مليارات دولار.
جاء ذلك في البيان المشترك الذي صدر في ختام الزيارة الرسمية للوفد السعودي رفيع المستوى إلى باكستان خلال الفترة من 26 إلى 28 أغسطس 2026، برئاسة وزير البيئة والمياه والزراعة المهندس عبدالرحمن الفضلي، ومشاركة عدد من كبار المسؤولين في الوزارة، والهيئة العامة للأمن الغذائي، والجهات ذات الصلة، فيما رأس الجانب الباكستاني وزير الدولة للأمن الغذائي والبحوث رانا تنوير حسين، بمشاركة عدد من كبار المسؤولين الحكوميين وممثلي القطاع الخاص في باكستان.
قطاعات ذات أولوية
وأوضح البيان أن المحادثات بين الجانبين ركزت على القطاعات ذات الأولوية، وشملت الأرز، واللحوم الحمراء، والفواكه ومركزاتها، والأعلاف الخضراء، وتقنيات الزراعة المرشدة لاستهلاك المياه، مبينًا أن حجم الإمدادات الباكستانية في قطاع الأرز لعام 2025، بلغ نحو 169 ألف طن، بقيمة تقديرية تصل إلى 163 مليون دولار، ضمن سوق واردات الأرز في المملكة، مع الاهتمام بتوسيع نطاق التبادل التجاري الثنائي خلال الأعوام القادمة، كما بلغ حجم الإمدادات السنوية الباكستانية في قطاع اللحوم نحو 30 ألف طن، بقيمة 167 مليون دولار، وقد أبدى الجانب السعودي رغبته في مضاعفة حجم الإمدادات مستقبلًا.
فرص واعدة
وأشار البيان إلى وجود فرص واعدة في قطاع الفواكه، حيث اتفق الجانبان على زيادة حصة الصادرات الباكستانية في السوق السعودي، وتمكين القطاع الخاص، وتسهيل التواصل بين رجال الأعمال، والتوسع في الاعتراف المتبادل بشهادات الجودة، مبينًا أن الجانب السعودي سلط الضوء على قطاع الأعلاف الخضراء، بوصفه مجالًا واعدًا لتوسيع أفق التجارة، وبناء شراكات إمداد طويلة الأجل، كما شجع باكستان على الانضمام للمجلس الدولي للتمور، وأبدى الجانب الباكستاني ترحيبه بالدعوة.
وأعرب الجانبان عن ترحيبهما بانتهاء المرحلة الأولى من «برنامج الري المرشد لاستهلاك المياه» في منطقة بهاكار بإقليم البنجاب، وأبديا اهتمامهما بالمرحلة الثانية المقترحة الموجهة لدعم صغار المزارعين، واطلعا على المقترحات الاستثمارية لشركات القطاع الخاص الباكستاني في مجالات الثروة الحيوانية، والصناعات التحويلية الزراعية، وسلاسل قيمة الأرز، حيث تم الاتفاق على التنسيق والعمل المشترك، لبحث واستغلال هذه الفرص الاستثمارية.
تعزيز الشراكة الشاملة
وشملت زيارة الوفد السعودي إلى باكستان، تقديم عرض إيجازي حول «الخطة الإستراتيجية للزراعة والأمن الغذائي بين باكستان والسعودية»، وعقد عدة اجتماعات.
وفي ختام البيان المشترك، جدد الجانبان التأكيد على تعزيز الشراكة الإستراتيجية الشاملة بين البلدين، ورحب الجانب الباكستاني بالدعوة لحضور المعرض الزراعي السعودي الثالث والأربعين الذي سيقام في الرياض أكتوبر القادم، كما أعربا عن بالغ ارتياحهما لنتائج هذه الزيارة، واتفقا على استمرار التنسيق المشترك لمتابعة تنفيذ ما تم التوصل إليه من تفاهمات.
Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan affirmed the strength of the historical relations between the two countries, praising the level of integration in achieving food security priorities through enhancing the export capabilities of the agriculture and food sector. They expressed their mutual aspiration to raise the level of Pakistani agricultural and food exports to the Kingdom to 3 billion dollars.
This was stated in the joint statement issued at the conclusion of the official visit of the high-level Saudi delegation to Pakistan from August 26 to 28, 2026, headed by the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Fadli, with the participation of several senior officials from the ministry, the General Food Security Authority, and relevant entities. The Pakistani side was headed by the Minister of State for Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, with the participation of several senior government officials and representatives of the private sector in Pakistan.
Priority Sectors
The statement clarified that the discussions between the two sides focused on priority sectors, including rice, red meat, fruits and their concentrates, green fodder, and water-efficient agricultural technologies. It indicated that the volume of Pakistani supplies in the rice sector for 2025 reached about 169,000 tons, with an estimated value of 163 million dollars, within the rice import market in the Kingdom, with an interest in expanding the scope of bilateral trade in the coming years. The annual volume of Pakistani supplies in the meat sector was about 30,000 tons, valued at 167 million dollars, and the Saudi side expressed its desire to double the volume of supplies in the future.
Promising Opportunities
The statement pointed out the presence of promising opportunities in the fruit sector, where both sides agreed to increase the share of Pakistani exports in the Saudi market, empower the private sector, facilitate communication between businessmen, and expand mutual recognition of quality certificates. It highlighted that the Saudi side emphasized the green fodder sector as a promising area for expanding trade and building long-term supply partnerships, and encouraged Pakistan to join the International Date Council, to which the Pakistani side welcomed the invitation.
Both sides expressed their welcome for the completion of the first phase of the "Water-Efficient Irrigation Program" in the Bahawalpur region of Punjab and showed interest in the proposed second phase aimed at supporting small farmers. They reviewed the investment proposals from Pakistani private sector companies in the fields of livestock, agricultural processing industries, and rice value chains, agreeing to coordinate and work together to explore and exploit these investment opportunities.
Enhancing Comprehensive Partnership
The Saudi delegation's visit to Pakistan included a brief presentation on the "Strategic Plan for Agriculture and Food Security between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia" and several meetings.
At the conclusion of the joint statement, both sides reiterated their commitment to enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. The Pakistani side welcomed the invitation to attend the 43rd Saudi Agricultural Exhibition to be held in Riyadh next October, and they expressed their great satisfaction with the results of this visit, agreeing to continue joint coordination to follow up on the implementation of the agreements reached.
