استضافت مجلة «فورين بوليسي» في العاصمة الأمريكية واشنطن جلسة نقاش للأمين العام لرابطة العالم الإسلامي رئيس هيئة علماء المسلمين الشيخ الدكتور محمد بن عبدالكريم العيسى، بحضور مسؤولي التحرير والرئيس التنفيذي والناشر، إضافة إلى نخبة من الشخصيات الدينية والفكرية والإعلامية والسياسية.
وشهدت الجلسة نقاشاً حول عدد من القضايا والموضوعات، خصوصاً ذات الصلة بالشأن الديني والفكري.
وتطرق الدكتور العيسى في أثناء الإجابة عن الأسئلة الموجهة إليه، إلى مضامين «وثيقة مكة المكرمة»، والخصائص التي تميزت بها، وقد أشاد الحضور بفكرة الوثيقة ومحتواها الذي يعكس سعة الأفق الإسلامي، ويجسد سماحة ديننا الحنيف وقيم تعايشه مع الجميع، إلى جانب تناولها لعدد من القضايا المعاصرة.
وتعد الوثيقة في طليعة الوثائق الدينية المعاصرة، وقد أمضاها أكثر من 1200 شخصية بين مفتٍ وعالم، وحضر مؤتمرها أكثر من 4500 مفكر إسلامي، كما أقرتها دول منظمة التعاون الإسلامي، وأوصت بالاستفادة منها في المؤسسات الدينية والتعليمية والثقافية في الدول الإسلامية، ويجري حالياً تدريب العديد من الأئمة حول العالم على مضامين الوثيقة؛ تنفيذاً لتوصية منظمة التعاون الإسلامي.
كما تناول اللقاء عدداً من القضايا المعاصرة على الساحة الدولية، في ضوء الرسالة التي تضطلع بها رابطة العالم الإسلامي وأهدافها.
The magazine "Foreign Policy" hosted a discussion session in the American capital, Washington, for the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and President of the Assembly of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, with the presence of editorial officials, the CEO, and the publisher, in addition to a select group of religious, intellectual, media, and political figures.
The session witnessed a discussion on several issues and topics, particularly those related to religious and intellectual matters.
During his responses to the questions directed at him, Dr. Al-Issa addressed the contents of the "Makkah Document" and the characteristics that distinguished it. The attendees praised the idea of the document and its content, which reflects the broad Islamic perspective and embodies the tolerance of our noble religion and its values of coexistence with everyone, alongside its discussion of several contemporary issues.
The document is considered one of the leading contemporary religious documents, signed by more than 1,200 figures, including muftis and scholars, and attended by over 4,500 Islamic thinkers at its conference. It has also been endorsed by the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which recommended utilizing it in religious, educational, and cultural institutions in Islamic countries. Currently, many imams around the world are being trained on the contents of the document, in implementation of the recommendation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The meeting also addressed several contemporary issues on the international stage, in light of the message carried by the Muslim World League and its objectives.
