Amid the atmosphere of terror experienced by the Houthi militia leaders due to the return of the Yemeni air force to action and military movements on the fronts, banking sources in Sana'a revealed to "Okaz" that Houthi leaders have begun selling the assets of the Yemeni government bank for construction and development in Sana'a, expecting that the sale will soon extend to the assets of the central bank.

Employees at the construction and development bank stated that the Houthi militia issued orders to its members to quickly sell the assets of the government construction and development bank, both the main branch and its various branches. They indicated that the militia has gradually started to dispose of the bank's properties and assets, including rare and antique coins, in addition to weapons that were designated for protecting the main center and branches, more than 35 iron safes, as well as furniture from the bank's housing project, cars, and real estate owned by the bank.

The sources mentioned that the bank's president, appointed by the Houthis, Hussein Fadl Harhara, is the one conducting the sales, under the direction of senior Houthi leaders, including Mohammed al-Houthi and the director of the Houthi presidential office, Ahmed al-Hamid.

The Yemeni bank for construction and development is one of the oldest and largest national banks, owning a wide network of branches, assets, and real estate across various governorates. Since its general administration moved to Aden, the Sana'a branch has remained under the control of the Houthi militia, which imposed an administration exercising its powers over the bank's assets within its controlled areas, before finally moving towards rapidly selling them.

On another note, Houthi-controlled areas are witnessing a state of unrest due to ongoing Houthi violations, the latest being the killing of a citizen in a market in Al-Jawf.

Today (Saturday), traders from the markets of Bart al-Anan and Bart al-Marashi in Al-Jawf province, which are under Houthi control, carried out a comprehensive strike in protest against the crime committed by a Houthi gunman.

The protesting traders and residents in Al-Jawf province confirmed the continuation of the closure of the two markets and the suspension of commercial activity until the demands of the victim's family and his blood relatives are met, and the accused is handed over for trial and legal punishment.
