أعلن رئيس مجلس إدارة النادي الأهلي، الدكتور خالد الغامدي، استقالته من منصبه، عبر بيان نشره في حسابه الشخصي، بعد ثلاثة أعوام قاد خلالها النادي لتحقيق العديد من الإنجازات، مقدماً شكره لأعضاء مجلس الإدارة، ومنسوبي النادي، وجماهير الأهلي على دعمهم طوال فترة رئاسته.
وحقق الغامدي خلال فترة إدارته ثلاث بطولات، تمثلت في لقبين متتاليين لدوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة، إلى جانب كأس السوبر السعودي، في واحدة من أنجح الفترات بتاريخ النادي.
ويأتي إعلان الاستقالة بالتزامن مع فتح باب الترشح لانتخابات رئاسة الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، وسط ترقب لإعلان الغامدي ترشحه رسمياً لخوض السباق على رئاسة الاتحاد خلال الفترة القادمة.
The Chairman of the Al-Ahli Club, Dr. Khalid Al-Ghamdi, announced his resignation from his position through a statement published on his personal account, after three years during which he led the club to achieve many accomplishments, expressing his gratitude to the board members, club staff, and Al-Ahli fans for their support throughout his presidency.
During his management period, Al-Ghamdi achieved three championships, which included two consecutive titles in the AFC Champions League, along with the Saudi Super Cup, marking one of the most successful periods in the club's history.
The announcement of his resignation comes at the same time as the opening of nominations for the presidency of the Saudi Football Federation, amid anticipation for Al-Ghamdi to officially announce his candidacy to compete for the presidency of the federation in the upcoming period.
