شهد أسبوع الموضة في لاغوس عرضاً لافتاً قدّمته المصممة النيجيرية كانينسولا أونالاجا، جمع بين الحِرفة التقليدية والابتكار العصري في مجموعة مستوحاة من التراث الأفريقي الغني بالتفاصيل.
استخدمت المصممة خامات فاخرة مطرزة باللؤلؤ والخيوط اللامعة، مزجتها بأقمشة ذات ألوان جريئة وأشكال هندسية مستوحاة من الزخارف المحلية. وقد ركّز العرض على إبراز جمال الحِرَف اليدوية التي تُعد جزءاً أصيلاً من الهوية الأفريقية، مع الحفاظ على روح الحداثة في القصّات والأسلوب.
اللافت أن أونالاجا قدّمت رؤيتها للموضة بصفتها وسيلة للتعبير عن الفخر بالثقافة الأفريقية وإعادة تعريف مفهوم الأناقة من منظور محلي عالمي في آن واحد.
The Lagos Fashion Week witnessed a striking show presented by Nigerian designer Kaninsola Onalaja, which combined traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation in a collection inspired by the rich details of African heritage.
The designer used luxurious materials embroidered with pearls and shiny threads, blending them with fabrics in bold colors and geometric shapes inspired by local motifs. The show focused on highlighting the beauty of handmade crafts, which are an integral part of African identity, while maintaining the spirit of modernity in cuts and style.
Notably, Onalaja presented her vision of fashion as a means of expressing pride in African culture and redefining the concept of elegance from a simultaneously local and global perspective.
