عقد وزير الصناعة والثروة المعدنية بندر بن إبراهيم الخريف اليوم، اجتماعا ثنائيا مع نائب وزير الطاقة الأمريكي جيمس دانلي، بحث خلاله أوجه التعاون المشترك بين المملكة والولايات المتحدة في قطاع التعدين والمعادن الإستراتيجية، على هامش أعمال النسخة التاسعة من مؤتمر مبادرة مستقبل الاستثمار FII بالرياض.
وأكد الاجتماع متانة العلاقات التاريخية، والشراكات الإستراتيجية الاقتصادية التي تربط بين البلدين، خصوصا في القطاع التعديني، منوها بأهمية تطوير التعاون المشترك، بما يدعم سلاسل إمداد المعادن الحرجة التي تشهد طلبا عالميا متزايدا، في إطار مذكرة التعاون المبرمة في مايو 2025، بين وزارة الصناعة والثروة المعدنية ووزارة الطاقة الأمريكية.
واتفق الطرفان خلال الاجتماع، على تعميق الشراكة الإستراتيجية بين الجانبين في القطاع التعديني، واستغلال الفرص المتبادلة في مجالات معالجة المعادن، وتقنيات التعدين، والعناصر الأرضية النادرة، كما أكدا ضرورة تعزيز التعاون الدولي لدعم النمو المستدام في قطاع التعدين والمعادن.
وسلّط الاجتماع الضوء على مؤتمر التعدين الدولي الذي تستضيفه المملكة سنويا، وما يشكله من منصة عالمية تجمع صُنَّاع القرار، والمنظمات غير الحكومية، وكبار المستثمرين، وشركات تقنيات التعدين، ومؤسسات الأبحاث؛ لإيجاد حلول مبتكرة تعالج تحديات قطاع التعدين والمعادن، وتعزز استدامته.
ودعا وزير الصناعة والثروة المعدنية، نائب وزير الطاقة الأمريكي، للمشاركة في النسخة الخامسة من المؤتمر التي تستضيفها الرياض خلال الفترة من 13 إلى 15 يناير 2026.
The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, held a bilateral meeting today with U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy James Danly, during which they discussed areas of mutual cooperation between the Kingdom and the United States in the mining and strategic minerals sector, on the sidelines of the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference in Riyadh.
The meeting confirmed the strength of the historical relations and the strategic economic partnerships that bind the two countries, especially in the mining sector, highlighting the importance of developing joint cooperation to support the supply chains of critical minerals that are witnessing increasing global demand, within the framework of the cooperation memorandum signed in May 2025 between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the U.S. Department of Energy.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed to deepen the strategic partnership between them in the mining sector and to exploit mutual opportunities in the fields of mineral processing, mining technologies, and rare earth elements. They also emphasized the necessity of enhancing international cooperation to support sustainable growth in the mining and minerals sector.
The meeting highlighted the International Mining Conference, which the Kingdom hosts annually, and what it represents as a global platform that brings together decision-makers, non-governmental organizations, major investors, mining technology companies, and research institutions to find innovative solutions to address the challenges facing the mining and minerals sector and to enhance its sustainability.
The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources invited the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy to participate in the fifth edition of the conference, which will be hosted in Riyadh from January 13 to 15, 2026.
