أعلنت الهيئة العامة للمنافسة استضافة المملكة العربية السعودية، بالشراكة مع منظمة التعاون الاقتصادي والتنمية (OECD)، البرنامج الإقليمي لبناء القدرات في مجال المنافسة (RCCBP) لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا.
ويأتي إطلاق هذا البرنامج الإقليمي تحت إطار مذكرة التفاهم الموقعة بين منظمة التعاون الاقتصادي والتنمية والمملكة العربية السعودية؛ بهدف تعزيز التعاون في عدد من السياسات الرئيسة دعماً لتحقيق رؤية المملكة 2030. وتعكس استضافة البرنامج الإقليمي لبناء القدرات الدورَ الإستراتيجي المتنامي للمملكة مع منظومة منظمة التعاون الاقتصادي والتنمية، وتؤكد ريادتها في تعزيز سياسات المنافسة وإنفاذها على المستويات الدولية.
وسيوفر البرنامج مجموعة متكاملة من ورش العمل، وبرامج التدريب المتخصصة، التي تُعنى بدعم التطبيق الفعّال لأنظمة المنافسة وتعزيز مواءمتها مع معايير منظمة التعاون الاقتصادي والتنمية وأفضل الممارسات الدولية، وسيستهدف البرنامج مسؤولي هيئات المنافسة والجهات التنظيمية القطاعية والسلطات القضائية والجهات الحكومية ذات العلاقة في مختلف دول المنطقة.
ويمثّل اختيار المملكة لاستضافة البرنامج الإقليمي لبناء القدرات في مجال المنافسة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا محطةً بارزة، وخطوةً محورية نحو تعزيز القدرات المؤسسية بهدف تحقيق أسواق تنافسية لصالح المستهلكين والشركات؛ مما يؤدي إلى زيادة الإنتاجية والابتكار والنمو وفرص العمل في مختلف دول المنطقة.
The General Authority for Competition announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), will host the Regional Capacity Building Program in Competition (RCCBP) for the Middle East and North Africa.
This regional program is launched under the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between the OECD and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aiming to enhance cooperation in several key policies in support of achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The hosting of the regional capacity building program reflects the growing strategic role of the Kingdom within the OECD framework and confirms its leadership in promoting and enforcing competition policies at the international levels.
The program will provide a comprehensive set of workshops and specialized training programs aimed at supporting the effective implementation of competition systems and enhancing their alignment with OECD standards and international best practices. The program will target officials from competition authorities, sectoral regulatory bodies, judicial authorities, and relevant government entities across various countries in the region.
The selection of the Kingdom to host the regional capacity building program in competition for the Middle East and North Africa represents a significant milestone and a pivotal step towards enhancing institutional capacities to achieve competitive markets for the benefit of consumers and businesses, leading to increased productivity, innovation, growth, and job opportunities across various countries in the region.
