«ساما»: إطلاق خدمة الدفع «Google Pay» في السعودية

The Saudi Central Bank "SAMA" announced the launch of the payment service (Google Pay), one of Google’s products, through the national payment system "Mada" in the Kingdom.

This announcement was made during the Money20/20 Middle East conference and exhibition held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center in Melhem.

This step reflects the ongoing efforts of the Saudi Central Bank to enhance the digital payment ecosystem, in line with the objectives of the Financial Sector Development Program, one of the programs of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, and its commitment to developing a strong digital payment infrastructure to transition to a society less reliant on cash, by providing advanced digital payment solutions that align with international standards.

Technological Solutions

The service will enable users to easily and securely add and manage Mada cards and digital credit cards via the Google Wallet app, as part of "SAMA's" strategy to expand the use of financial technology solutions through smart devices, enhance financial inclusion in the Kingdom, and stimulate the financial sector to serve customers through the latest payment methods.

The (Google Pay) payment service is part of a series of initiatives to empower the infrastructure; meeting the needs of the Saudi market, and facilitating the digital payment experience, thereby enhancing the Kingdom's position as one of the leading countries in financial technology solutions and promoting the growth of payment digitization worldwide.
