حققت المملكة العربية السعودية المركز الأول عالمياً في مؤشر تنمية الاتصالات والتقنية 2025 الصادر عن الاتحاد الدولي للاتصالات، الذي يرصد اقتصادات 164 دولة لقياس التطور الرقمي وتقدم الدول في خدمات الاتصالات والتقنية من خلال عدد من المؤشرات الفرعية، التي قسمت على محورين أساسيين: الاتصالية الشاملة والاتصالية الفعالة.
وبينت هيئة الاتصالات والفضاء والتقنية أن تصدر المملكة في هذا المؤشر، يأتي انعكاساً لمسيرة التطوير المستدام، التي يشهدها قطاع الاتصالات والتقنية، واستمرار الجهود الوطنية في بنائه وتعزيز تنافسيته.
وأكدت الهيئة أن البنية التحتية الرقمية الذكية، التي تتمتع بها المملكة تعد من أبرز الممكنات الداعمة لنمو الاقتصاد الرقمي وتطوره، وتسهم في جذب الاستثمارات للسوق المحلية وتعزيز مساهمته في الناتج المحلي الإجمالي، إذ يصل حجم الاقتصاد الرقمي في المملكة إلى (495) مليار ريال في 2024 مساهماً بنسبة (15%) من الناتج المحلي الإجمالي، فيما تعد سوق الاتصالات والتقنية في المملكة الأكبر والأسرع نمواً في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، بحجم يقدر بـ 180 مليار ريال في 2024، فيما وصلت نسبة انتشار اشتراكات خدمات الاتصالات المتنقلة إلى 212% من السكان، وتجاوز معدل استهلاك الفرد الشهري للبيانات في المملكة المعدل العالمي بـ 3 أضعاف.
الجدير بالذكر أن مؤشر تنمية الاتصالات والتقنية (IDI) الصادر عن الاتحاد الدولي للاتصالات يعد إطاراً معيارياً لقياس التطور الرقمي ومتانة البنية التحتية الرقمية، ليقدم بيانات ومنهجية شاملة وشفافة بما يعزز من فاعلية القرارات القائمة على البيانات.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has achieved the first place globally in the 2025 ICT Development Index issued by the International Telecommunication Union, which monitors the economies of 164 countries to measure digital development and the progress of countries in telecommunications and technology services through a number of sub-indicators, divided into two main axes: universal connectivity and effective connectivity.
The Communications, Space, and Technology Authority indicated that the Kingdom's leading position in this index reflects the sustainable development journey witnessed by the telecommunications and technology sector, and the ongoing national efforts to build it and enhance its competitiveness.
The Authority confirmed that the smart digital infrastructure enjoyed by the Kingdom is one of the most prominent enablers supporting the growth and development of the digital economy, contributing to attracting investments to the local market and enhancing its contribution to the GDP. The size of the digital economy in the Kingdom is expected to reach (495) billion riyals in 2024, contributing (15%) to the GDP, while the telecommunications and technology market in the Kingdom is the largest and fastest-growing in the Middle East and North Africa, with an estimated size of 180 billion riyals in 2024. The penetration rate of mobile telecommunications service subscriptions has reached 212% of the population, and the average monthly data consumption per individual in the Kingdom has exceeded the global average by three times.
It is worth noting that the ICT Development Index (IDI) issued by the International Telecommunication Union is a standard framework for measuring digital development and the robustness of digital infrastructure, providing comprehensive and transparent data and methodology that enhances the effectiveness of data-driven decisions.
