Fuel prices in Germany continue to rise, with the price of a liter of super gasoline of type "E10" averaging a new record level of 2.30 euros nationwide, according to figures from the German Automobile Club.
The price has increased by 1.4 cents compared to last Monday, marking a record level for the fourth consecutive time.
Diesel Price
The price of diesel has also risen again, reaching 2.422 euros per liter, an increase of one cent from the previous day. This also reduces the gap with the previous highest price of 2.447 euros per liter in April. The prices of both types of fuel have risen sharply again since the end of August; however, when adjusted for the general inflation rate, the current prices remain significantly lower than previous record levels.
Massive Increase
The initial fuel prices on the "Tankerkönig" portal were slightly higher than the levels recorded at the same time the previous day. In contrast, the price of crude oil was slightly lower in the morning. Compared to the period before the outbreak of the war with Iran, the increase is massive; on the last day before the war broke out, the price of super gasoline of type "E10" was more than 52 cents per liter lower than the current price, while the difference for diesel was about 68 cents per liter. Calculating this for a 50-liter fuel tank, the increase amounts to 26 euros and 34 euros respectively.
