وشهد مطار الأمير محمد بن عبدالعزيز الدولي نمواً متواصلاً في الحركة التشغيلية، إذ بلغ عدد المسافرين عبره نحو 11.7 مليون مسافر خلال عام 2025. كما يواصل أداء دور محوري في خدمة ضيوف الرحمن، بعدما استقبل خلال موسم حج 1446 قرابة 720 ألف حاج عبر 1911 رحلة قادمة من 53 دولة و196 وجهة حول العالم، بواسطة 65 ناقلاً جوياً.
تحول رقمي يرفع جودة التجربة
وفي إطار تحسين تجربة السفر ورفع كفاءة العمليات التشغيلية، نفذ المطار عدداً من المشاريع التقنية المتقدمة، شملت إضافة 20 بوابة خدمة ذاتية في صالات السفر لتسهيل إجراءات الجوازات وتقليص أوقات الانتظار، وتطوير نظام عرض معلومات الرحلات FIDS عبر تركيب 326 شاشة حديثة داخل الصالات، إلى جانب تطبيق تقنيات تنظيم حركة المسافرين بالأذرع الإلكترونية في صالات الوصول والمغادرة، وإدخال روبوتات تنظيف ذكية لتعزيز كفاءة الخدمات التشغيلية.

توسعة بـ1.3 مليار ريال
ويواصل المطار تنفيذ خطط توسعة وتطوير تتجاوز تكلفتها 1.3 مليار ريال، بهدف رفع الطاقة الاستيعابية إلى 18 مليون مسافر سنوياً، عبر إنشاء صالة جديدة للرحلات الدولية للناقلات الوطنية بطاقة 5.5 مليون مسافر سنوياً، إلى جانب توسعة الصالة الدولية الحالية لتصل طاقتها إلى 12.5 مليون مسافر سنوياً، بما يدعم نمو الحركة الجوية ويعزز ربط المدينة المنورة بمزيد من الوجهات العالمية.

وأعرب الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة طيبة لتشغيل المطارات المهندس سفيان عبدالسلام عن اعتزازه بهذا الإنجاز، مؤكداً أنه يعكس جهود منظومة العمل في مطار الأمير محمد بن عبدالعزيز الدولي، والتعاون الوثيق مع الشركاء من الجهات الحكومية والتشغيلية، بدعم وتوجيهات أمير منطقة المدينة المنورة الأمير سلمان بن سلطان بن عبدالعزيز، وإشراف الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني.

This achievement reflects the sustainability of outstanding performance and the quality of services provided to travelers and guests of Allah.

This accolade marks the third consecutive win and the fifth in six years, after the airport previously won the award in 2020, 2021, 2024, and 2025, confirming the airport's ability to maintain high operational and service levels, and enhancing its position among the leading regional airports in the area.

The Skytrax Awards are among the most important international awards in the airport sector, as they are based on traveler voting in the largest annual global survey measuring customer satisfaction. Additionally, it achieved fourth place globally as the Best International Airport for the category of 10 to 20 million passengers annually.

This achievement is part of a series of awards and accreditations that the airport has received during 2025 and 2026, including a Level 2 accreditation in customer experience from the International Airports Council, and the IBCCES certificate as the first autism-friendly airport in the Kingdom, along with the Best Workplace certificate according to the Great Place to Work classification, and the emergency medical safety certificate under the Muath Project initiative, in addition to the awards for Best International Airport for the category of 5 to 15 million passengers and Best Services for Persons with Disabilities within the comprehensive evaluation program for airport service quality granted by the General Authority of Civil Aviation.

Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport has witnessed continuous growth in operational traffic, with the number of travelers passing through it reaching approximately 11.7 million passengers during 2025. It also continues to play a pivotal role in serving the guests of Allah, having received nearly 720,000 pilgrims during the Hajj season of 1446 through 1,911 flights coming from 53 countries and 196 destinations around the world, operated by 65 airlines.
A Digital Transformation Enhancing Experience Quality
As part of improving the travel experience and increasing operational efficiency, the airport has implemented several advanced technical projects, including the addition of 20 self-service kiosks in the departure halls to facilitate passport procedures and reduce waiting times, and the development of the Flight Information Display System (FIDS) by installing 326 modern screens inside the halls, along with applying technologies to organize passenger movement with electronic arms in the arrival and departure halls, and introducing smart cleaning robots to enhance operational service efficiency.

Expansion Worth 1.3 Billion Riyals
The airport continues to implement expansion and development plans exceeding 1.3 billion Riyals, aiming to increase its capacity to 18 million passengers annually, through the construction of a new terminal for international flights for national carriers with a capacity of 5.5 million passengers annually, in addition to expanding the existing international terminal to reach a capacity of 12.5 million passengers annually, supporting air traffic growth and enhancing the connection of Medina to more global destinations.

The CEO of Taiba Airports Operation Company, Engineer Sufyan Abdul Salam, expressed his pride in this achievement, confirming that it reflects the efforts of the work system at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport, and the close cooperation with partners from government and operational entities, supported by the guidance of the Prince of Medina Region, Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, and the supervision of the General Authority of Civil Aviation.
He added that the company will continue to work on developing airport services and enhancing the traveler experience, contributing to establishing Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport as one of the leading international airports in the region.
